Cleveland Drivers

Here's my take. I've used a bunch of retail drivers, most sound like tin cans, and don't feel that good. I just bought a Comp 460 with a Prolite, and it is the most satisfying driver I have ever hit. By that I mea it feels so solid, sounds great, and is very accurate. That said, It is not the longest club i've hit. I'm still not sure what to do, as I seem to have lost some yardage with it compared to my old Cobra 440SZ/Prolaunch combo. If you're looking for sheer distance, there may be something better out there, but if you want something that it satisfying to hit, the Comp is a great driver.

I've only tried the 400cc Launcher with stock Stiff Fujikura shaft (a buddy owns one). It is very solid feeling through impact. Sound is not tinny.

I picked up a 3wd Launcher because it was a demo that looked brand new and it's the same- solid through impact and sounds solid.

Might take the plunge and plop some cash down for a 460 or a 400. The 3wd is going to stay in the bag for a while- the best I've tried or owned (TM V-steel, Adams GT, Ovation, Redline, Titleist 904F?, various Cobra's).

I too wan't much of a Cleveland driver fan, but looking at all the posts on this site I decided to take the plunge and pickup a 9.5 Comp with Accra SC 75. I've been a Titleist guy for the past few years and even tried a 580 XD with an NV last year, and none of them compare to the distance and accuracy I'm getting with this driver. I'm sure a lot if it is the combination of head and shaft, but I'm very consistent with it compared to the rest of my set. Another thing is the way it sets up. I love the look of the composite top and the shape looks great. I just can't get used to the look of the R7's and R5's.

i played the launcher 460 and loved it i couldnt belive how forgiving it was compared to the other drivers on the market.

I got the 460 when i was off 25 and it was a real confidence club because you hit it straight out off the toe and still have good distance.

The comp is even better IMO it's longer, more forgiving and has a better feel then the 460.

IMO you have to try one i think the comp is the best retail driver out on the market today.

I have already made some calls to get and try one. This is against all that I believe in , but it really sounds like i need to give it a try.

I see so many of you use and praise the Cleveland Drivers. I have never been a big Cleveland fan, I have a few wedges buts that it. Whats the rage?? Am I missing the boat here? Give me some insight please, maybe I will have to try one.

I have a 460 with stock shaft and love it. I don't get in much trouble with it, matter of fact 80% in the fairway. Distance is as good as my 983, but with less effort.

I Used the launcher 400 with stock shaft. it's a great club. it has a real nice pop to it at impact. one of the longest drivers i've owned. i switch trough drivers a fair amount, but i still keep it as my back up driver so it must be pretty decent if it's still hanging around :busted_cop:
