I hear the ping Tour W wedge is every bit as good as vokey and cally too, but it's made from harder mat. so it'll last longer, ie you can practice more and play won't be as effected. just my two cents

the one that fits your swing.

The question is like asking what's the best ball, shaft, head, swing, show size, color of hair, car, doughnut, hamburger??

Describe your swing and what you want to do with the ball.

Discount Dan's has the JLM's for $160 but if you want the TD wedges I'm sure they're still around $300

Finalist wasn't trying to be rude....He simply stated the truth.....If you ask 10 different people this question your bound to get 10 different answers....In all honesty it's a silly question to ask....Don't try to look for you next wedge by asking the question on this site....Do yourself and your game justice and hit as many wedges as possible and make the descision yourself based on the one that feels best to you..........

ooooouch. you're kinda mean, but mostly vague, so you get a second chance.

OK then the best wedge is a Scratch TD PWE grind, swing weight at D5, raw finish, minimal stamps, tour velvet corded grip.

From what I've heard and tried:

try the Vokeys, TM Z, Ping Tour, and Nike VR

TM Z is better than Vokeys for me. Been dying to try the Ping and Nike but didn't get a chance.

    Anything with sharp grooves!

Usually its a cleveland or a TM in the bag, however I've been taking a look at some Vokey's as of late.

But hitting them all in a fair test is the best advice anyone can give.

Always hugely personal but I vote for Vega or Royal Collection/Sonartec or SM Vokeys for mainstream OEMs. One of my friends can't say enough about his Fourteen and Scratch wedges.

As an aside, Vega fans will be ever-so-slightly happy to know that they are going to be launched in the US at the Orlando PGA show in Jan.

The NEW 09 Vokey's are sweet. I have always like like Vokey's but the sole was too thick for me. So when I saw these new ones with the C grind they are perfect!

I actually agree with this statement. I hit and gamed 5 sets of wedges before getting to the Scratch wedges. The Cally were the best of the bunch, other than the Scratch wedges. If you can't shell out the coin for the Scratch, then IMO go with the Cally X-Forged.

the best wedges out there right now would have to be the ARC wedges from Nickent. They look amazing, offer great forgiveness and amazing feel. I came across a review at http://thehackersparadise.com/home/?p=565 that talks about them as well. (not to mention, they retail for under a hundred bucks)

Lngnokr71, the reason my equipment changes so much because i am constantly being given new wedges/irons to try out by the reps. honestly, the last 3 rounds i have played the only club besides my putter that has remained in my bag was my driver. and yes, i have used Scratch wedges in the past but if i had to choose a set to use on a regular basis, right now i would probably go with the Tour Edge Exotics (Extreme) Spin Milled (or Vokeys). i dont understand why the Scratch users take everything so personally and become so defensive. sure they make a good wedge. but so do a lot of other companies...

seriously what the **** kind of question is that......Whats the best wedge out there????

-the one the lets u hit the ball closest to the hole, everyone has their own personal opinion and what may look good to one person may not look good to another, i think this is the dumbest question and how is this important for this forum? I dont know why I am even commenting on it.....sorry im not trying to be rude or mean but come on guys lets be serious

just for the record i think the "F2" wedge is the best, they say u cant shank it.......maybe the Spin Dr R.I Wedge would be a close second or even the bobby jones wedges designed by Jesse Ortis........

Definitely the Vokeys Spin Milled, I tried the Callys but they tore the balls up so badly I was constantly replacing them.
