Wow, I'm suprised nobody has commented on the this one. I own one and for the most part I like it. I can't say that this is the best fairway wood I've ever hit, but it sure isn't the worst. I just can't find anything else I like, so for the time being she'll stay. I have had some great shots with this club and for it's size, it's relatively easy to hit off the deck. I'm a high ball hitter to begin with so this idea about lightening up the shaft just doesn't work for me. I'm looking into getting another shaft, VS Proto or something. What I do like about this club is the looks, it is very appealing to my eye and it yells confidence. Great back up driver. TaylorMade got it right for the most part, but as I sit and write this review, TaylorMade will probably be coming out with the Burner XIII and XIV 3 months after.

I just got this in a High Launch 15* Stiff stock 49 gram shaft. This thing looks nice, (it has a closed face though.)

However, every single shot I hit with this thing is a big, clawing hook!

My normal ballflight is a boring trajectory draw, but this thing hooks like Tiger putting on a trick-shot clinic.

I'm thinking it's a combination of a closed face, a long, light shaft and probably also a bit softer flex than a standard, Stiff.

anyone else having this problem?

I managed to hit one straight shot, but to do that I had to play like I was hitting a huge slice (face wide open, over the top swing, hold the face open through impact)

I think I may be selling this shortly.

You should have bought the tour launch 14.5*. It is just insane how this thing goes from the firway.

I hit a couple of slices, but thats just my new grip...

I also got the 14.5* Tour version. Normally hit a fairly big Fade, and now am getting a gorgeous light draw. I use it as a driver a lot on anything thats tight.

Highly recommend it.

I can't say enough good things about this club. It took me a couple rounds to get the feel for it. But today I took it out and was absolutely striping it off of the tee. I kept my G15 in the bag all day long because I just couldn't mishit this club today! Now I want to find a driver that feels the same!

Over recent years, shaft technology has clearly improved to the point where these fairway woods' 49gm ultralight senior flex shafts are both stable and long....easy swinging and perfect for this old fart. I have the 3 and 5 woods that are consistent and reliable....all you can ask for in a fairway wood.
