Grom vs Edge

I am trying to decide between these two bags and would like to hear some opinions. I ride probably 80% of the time so a bag that is good for that is most important. I plan to walk a little more though hopefully so I don't want something super heavy. It doesn't seem either of these are though. As for the two, is there much difference between the '08 and '09 versions? There are a lot of great deals on close-outs for the '08s. Thanks.

They are both great bags! I have the '08 Edge and really like it, but it is a little heavy for full time walkers. Not to say it's not a good walking bag, but it is designed as a hybrid. Based on your 80% riding routine, I would give the edge to the "Edge" because it has a little more room and works great as a cart bag. The torque strap keeps the bag in place and upright without the usual twisting of a stand bag on a cart. Now, if you said you were an 80% walker, I would go with the Grom for the lighter weight.

The Edge changed slightly this year with the new Arclite leg system. I have not seen / tried the new version, but I believe it is suppossed to keep the legs from catching your calf when picking the bag up to your shoulder. I don't know if this is an improvement or not, but I can tell you I have not had any problems with mine. I actually like the looks of the '08 with the external framing and matching skeleton base over the newer version that only has external framing without the base - plus they had some cool color combos that they aren't offering in the new one.

You might also look at the new model Nexos, which looks like a premium version of the Edge.

I have the Grom and LOVE it. It has plenty of room for everything including 5-6 bottles of h20 for the summer 27. Plus Ogio has a great customer service team, the strap on my Grom was starting to tear a bit and they sent me a new strap, legs, everything but a new bag. The Grom has plenty of room for all 14, I have never had a problem getting any clubs out.

Another cool thing about the Grom is the cart strap that they have on it so your bag does NOT move while driving the cart.
