best carry bag?

I'm always partial to a maximum # of dividers which leads to a heavy-ish carry bag. I love my SM MPB, but it makes for a hefty carrier. Luckily, I have a SM speed cart.

If I were to go with a carry bag, I'd seriously look at the Ogios mentioned above, as their Woode system looks like the next best think to individual dividers. Also check out Sun Mountains 3.5 and 4.5 line of bags.

Love my OGIO Ozone. I think they are less than $100 on sale now. Every feature you could need.

Titleist x86!! Light, good organisation and great strap system!

Always amazes me how people's opinions can differ so much, I caddied for a friend once, he has one of those and I hated the strap's on it, and thought it was the heaviest bag I've ever carried.

I love Ping bags with the two separate strap system, but I know a lot of guys who hate them. Maybe it's something to do with your build?

I think stand bags are as individual as a golfer!! What is best for one may not be the best for another! You just got to try them and see which is the best for you.

For me, I have managed to arrange the x86 so it sits just right (in the small of my back), with the right amount of balence (front tilted up just so) and able to carry the right amount of stuff (13 clubs, 7 balls, handful of tees, water, towel, sunscreen and rulebook). All I need for a comp round and I feel OK at the end (found the bag is true to the stated weight).

I had a heavier, older stand bag that was not as adjustable as the x86, but with a few more features. Love it then, but after a few months with the x86 would not go back to it. Great bag then, but not for me now!

I'm 175cm and wiry- may have something to do with it  !!

Cheers.

i am also interested in which bag everyone is chosing. I have an old hoofer and there are two faults. 1). The stands suck. They get stuck a lot and never fully retract when the bag is being carried. 2). The dividers are not efficient. Its sometimes hard to get clubs in and out.

I wonder if the new vantage is a lot better??

I the past 2 years I've had an ogio ozone, a ping hoofer, and a Titleist sta-dry. I hated the stand on the ogio, too narrow, bag tipped at the lightest wind or off level lie. the hoofer was nice for about 4 months and the leg system crapped out on it. SO I decided to stop trying to n=buy a light bag and buy a bag with a solid leg system..also the monson season was upon me so I when I decided on the Titleist carry's I got the sta dry and so far it's been the best bag of the three.

i've owned a twister, vaporlite, ping cartbag, and the new four 5 by sunmountain.

the four 5 without a doubt is tops with the 14 way divider and the comfortable straps, and lightweight. I've tried to like Ogio but their bags are too heavy and i hate when the grips snag. i think it's a good compromise. it looks nice too.

Love my Ogio Sticks bag.

hey "Bllefkay": how (and where) do you fit 14 clubs into your Ogio Sticks bag?

BTW: I have used an Ogio sticks bag all this season; I like it and it survived severe weather during nine straight days of Irish links golf. However, I only carry 11 or 12 clubs, and even that seems to be forcing things a bit.

Would be interested in your experience with the Sticks bag.

While I like my Ping Hoofer quite a bit....I just can't get used to the 2 strap system. Never have...never will....and I've tried quite a few different brands (Ogio, Titleist, etc.) That being said...I do use the bag every now and again, but my bag of choice is without a doubt...my MacKenzie Walker.

Check out my WITB link below for pics of it. It's not only a thing of beauty...it's super comfortable to carry. And from those who use their more than I, and have owned one longer...they are incredibly durable as well.

I don't find a need for a mega divider, multi pocket, gizmo and gadget bag....just keep it simple for me. :)

I love my Ogio Grom, I kicked the crap out of it over the course of a year and it's still going strong. It has everything you need, comfy straps, plenty of room, and the water bottle holder is in the perfect place. Plus the amazing customer service. I had a strap with a very slight tear, I called Ogio and sent me a new bag, new stand, and new legs and charged me nothing for shipping or the replacement parts. I was amazed.

I just got a Titleist 80 carry bag since it was cheap with the Thanksgiving sale at TGW. Have two gripes, 1) it needs a strap handle near the base a la Mackenzie Walker. The only way to carry a single strap Sunday bag is by having something for the left hand to hold onto to take off some of the weight. And 2) not waterproof. Played in the rain and my grips were all soaked. I plan on carrying it on nice summer days but wanted to give it a test drive now because I am antsy! I wanted to give a sunday bag a try to decide if a Mackenzie Walker might be in my future. For now I will stick with my OGIO stand bag even though it is heavier. It really is more comfortable and convenient, especially when the weather is crappy and the fairways are muddy.

ogio??, ping?? i think NOT, Hands Down, the new Scotty Cameron stand bags!! they are made by sun mountain, and for $100-200 more you get the incredibly stylish cameron logo's. i'm not sure, but i heard that they redisgned the legs on these 2 new bags so they are much better than the current sun mountain or titleist version!! i got my hands on both the green and the black one.. they are so sweet!!
