Always have thought of this shaft as an everyman's shaft, almost anybody could play this shaft and get good results.

excellent shaft that i play in x100. i like its stiffness and stability even when you want to give all you have :)

This shaft can hold most golfers swing if it is smooth and dynamic.

Does anyone know this shaft plays weaker to flex?? S flex seems to feel like Regular compared to others...

In my opinion they do play a little soft.

Great shaft. I have one in my 905R and one in my SQ SuMo. The SuMo had the stock shaft in it for the first few weeks but seemed to have a ballooning problem. The YS6 has made that club much more predictable. Added 15 metres because of the extra roll from the flatter trajectory. The shaft maybe just a little soft in flex.

OK Folks, the YS-6 (YS-6+) is the benchmark for all aftermarket shafts. It's been around for a long time and continues to satisfy. The last comment you'll ever hear is " GDI shafts don't feel good". I thought that's what golf was all about... feeling good! It's tough to have the best of both worlds of Accuracy and Distance in a shaft that feels awesome, untill you try Graphite Design. By the way, few know that Graphite Design has dominated the Japan PGA TOUR for the past 135+ events... where is Mamiya, Fuji, MRC, Aldila?

I am very pleased with mine.

I have a swing speed of 110 or so. I am looking at putting a stiff ys-6+ 350 on a Callaway FT-5 9.5 degree driver. Would this be OK or should I look for a shaft that plays a little stiffer?

I have the YS 6+ regular flex in my 905 R and 906F 3 wood and i love them , they give me consistant trajectory and a soft draw with good distance also ... it's a very good shaft

Sort of. I was fitted for my driver with this shaft (regular) to 44". It now plays stiffer and I get a great launch angle...when I swing correctly. LOL. Best shaft I've ever had in a driver.

chunkyhunky, what is your swing speed? I am thinking of this shaft for my driver & 3 wood also.

i play this in my 905R....stiff flex. my swing speed is around 94. i actually feel like when my swing is off...i'd rather be in a regular flex. but when i am grooved....it is gold. this shaft is very dynamic.....very playable.

i considered changing it out to the vs proto but changed that thought to simply picking up the D2 in the vs proto so I can compare the two side by side.

I am thinking about buying this shaft on an old used Titleist 983 K. My swing speed with a driver is about 89 in general, a bit faster with a lighter shaft.

I've heard this shaft in the stiff model feels a little softer. Any suggestions?

I have the YS-6 stiff in my R5 and although it feels a little softer than most, but that might because im playing my driver at 45 inches which i never have before. My swingspeed is around 110 to 115. I might go to ys-7 or Purple Ice if I find myself losing to much control.

I play a YS-6+ Reg. in my driver. My instructor wants me to change shafts because my swing speed is higher than what this shaft is rated for, but I haven't found anything that I like as much!

I've tried the V2 and Aldia Proto in stiff, and they just don't give me the feel that the GDI does. I'd like to try the YS-7 or other GDI products before I make a decision.

Please note that any shaft play a little stiffer in the 454 head due to the bore thru design.

A week ago I tried the VS Proto and wasn't impress.

Found this to be a very average shaft. Not bad, not great. I have a little to hard of a swing for it and not great distance. Put a V2 75 reg in my 905R and that is a sweet combo. :drinks:

This shaft came stock in a 904f. The flex was stiff, the shaft was marked FW for fairway. When I swung smooth the ball went far, when I didn't swing smooth the ball went all over. Replaced it with a 75g Purple Ice in stiff and what a difference. All I can say is I don't swing smooth enough for the YS6+ FW.

This shaft is pretty sweet in fairway woods, especially in a 4 or 5 wood. The mid bend point lets me hit it as high as I want, but also keep it low. High ball hitters can hit it low, but low ball can't hit it high.

Went from a NV regular which ballooned all over the place in my 3 wood to this shaft in stiff and it is much longer and straighter. My driver speed is about 92 and the stiff in the FW is perfect for me.

Same here. YS-6 stiff and a 9* head. My SS is only 95-100 and it plays a touch stiff. The bore thru definitely tightens the shaft a little. Can't argue with the consistency of the shots though.

By far the best day to day shaft for a driver I have ever played. It is great when you are completely on or off you still hit it a mile and have great feel. I have it in an old 905 T driver and I hit it better then any driver on the market today hands down.

My SS. 100-105. Have YS6 in stiff (has a S350 on shaft) in my Callaway X460. I have a fairly short back swing with a fast move thru the ball. Ive been searching for a new driver lately.

Nothing beats my combo when I put a good swing on it. This shaft has such a boring ball flight that I just love. The ball also rolls out nicely.

The frustrating thing for me in looking for a driver is none of the stores and ranges I've been to carry this shaft to screw into different driver heads.

I've hit the new TM limited with the Matrix Ozik. I wish I could hit the YS6 with this head because I'm not overly impressed with the Ozik. In the limited head the ReAx shaft compares nicely.

To soft for big hitters for sure. Works best with a smooth tempo.

Tried the 7+ in place of my Grafalloy, went back to the Grafalloy. Can't really explain it, just did not like the feel, kinda dead. Will say I loved the 6 in my 983 though!

does anyone know the recommended swing speeds for the ys-6 (not plus) regular and stiff? My swing is around 85-95, should i go R or S?
