Just watchin the Mercedes and noticed that Ernie Els is using an Odyssey Sabertooth putter. I had always thought he was a blade or classic mallet style putter but, I guess its working.

hey i guess if it works why use something else, to be honest with you I dont know why im playing blades still if the best are hitting cavity backs why not just use something easy.

(i'll still prolly play blades they just look so good)

Kinda throws a wrench in the whole "blade vs. mallet / gate vs. SBST" argument, doesn't it?

could just trying out new putter style (even though sabertooth has been out since spring '08) since its not a big tournament. Did I see him still using an FT-5? or was the FT-9, couldn't tell, anyone get a good look?

Yep...and that entire scenerio of blade vs. mallet really doesn't make much sense considering that a pure SBST stroke happens at the shoulders anyway......so the arc stroke is just a messed up SBST stroke.

    Sorta.

Anyway, he's doin' alright so far with that ugly putter. image/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

If PETA threw blood on someone with a mosquito skin putter, wouldn't that be what the mosquitos want?
