To my knowlegde, it was re-done with Scotty's "Accident Orange" treatment.

Looks great but it's backwards.

My lefty 2.5 has been in the bag for about 4 years. A little light but getting that fixed as it is about to be sent off to Mr. Putter Plater for some magic like these ....

I had a 350g Studio Stainless Newport 2 for a while. I had really high hopes for this putter, but I think it had the worst feel of all the Scotty Camerons I've owned, including a Mil-Spec, Circa 62, Platinum Bullseye, and Newport Detour 2.

But I'm a carbon man, so that might have been it.

I was about to say, none of those are stainless steel (yes technically the Detour, but the insert is aluminum). There's definitely a difference between a solid carbon putter and these Studio Stainless.

In my opinion, I think they're really nice putters. I've owned a couple of them including a 34"/340g and a 34"/350g, both Newport 2's, and a Newport Beach. I had the most success with the 34"/340g, stayed in the bag for a couple of months but there was just something about it that never really clicked. My putting was just "okay". They are well made putters, put a solid roll on the ball. Hope it works out for you, I just happened to find my groove somewhere else.

Oh, also...you said it had JUST returned from the Custom Shop? That sole looks a bit beat up for that to be true. Everything else looks excellent though.

I've never used a 2.5 neck, I'm a "plumber's neck" guy, but IMO these putters are the Holy Grail of the greens. My gamer is a 34"/340g SS Newport 2, my practice club is a 34"/340g Newport Beach, and my backup and first Cameron is a 35"/330G SS Newport 2. The picture shows a refubished ProPlatinum Newport 2 that I had to sell for financial reasons (I should have kept it).

As you can tell, I'm in love with these putters. They have a crisp feeling off the ball, and work best with a soft/thin cover ball around the greens. to me, the balance, appearance, and setup is ideal. I've stuck with my gamer since 2003 and don't expect to change anytime soon.

It was gamed over the summer. The flash on the camera seemed to bring on the flaws on the sole.

I was also considering having LaMont cut a sound slot into the sole of this puppy. I've heard this can help with feel somewhat. What do you guys think?

A sound slot is a completely subjective, completely personal thing. Some people would say it helps, others will say it hurts. Unless you've personally had experience with a sound slot in the past, I'm not entirely sure it's the best idea for you to just up and do it expecting something better in return.

I used to game a Cameron Studio Stainless Mid Sur. It is a very nice putter, been in my bag for around 3 years. I would rate it a very strong 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. Definitely a keeper.

I know the giving up the putter wasn't really in your heart, but you have to do your part for the future of Philipppine golf right :)

Love my 2.5

Picked up a 2 in a trade. Had zero interest in it, it was simply worth more than what I was trading. Tried it out of curiosity and blew me away.

Only thing I didn't like was the plumber neck, so I traded it on for the 2.5 which is going to be with me for a very long time.

Only final thing I don't like about the Studio Stainless is the ordinary finish. So I've torched mine. Check out some of the threads on this forum on torching.

Torched or not, the 2.5 is a real keeper.

i like the little extra ping ya get with the sound slot which will very depending how far from the face its cut

I'm still debating. I figure I'll give it a shot once the season picks up and and we get back into the swing of things and see how I'm rolling it. Thanks for all the feedback keep it coming!!

I love how when someone posts here and wants feedback on his Cameron putter, every other cameron owner starts posting pics and talking about their own SC's. HAHA....just strikes me as funny...how it all evolves and the original OP doesn't quite get his/her question answered beyond like post #5!! :)

How would you rate this putter based on it's weight? By that I mean does it feel heavy or light? This may be just me, but some putters just feel heavier during the stroke than others with the same weight in my personal experiences. What do you guys think?

average i guess not heavy not light.
