HOW?
I need help, I am a certified putter HO and my New's Years resolution is to use the same putter for the whole semester.

If you've used the same putter for over 6 months, please tell me how to do it!

Pick your favorite one....sell all your others....then give the sales proceeds to your wife for her to buy whatever she wants.

Once all this is complete, occasionally browse "Flatsticks and Putter Talk" to get your fix.

Your game will thank you. I think of some of the greatest putters of all time and they typically did not flip flop on putters (Think Tiger, Ben Crenshaw, Brad Faxon etc,.)

I know that feeling...however, I don't think that feeling makes sense. Nothing has changed in the putter...it isn't like it mutated or anything. Just go back out and focus on the fundamentals and good feel and it'yll come back.

Back when I played competitively, I was a pretty stinking good putter (several 22-23 putt rounds) and I always used the same putter. When you putt with one putter forever, you develop and unbelievable sense of distance....all you have to worry about is line.

I'm bad at explaining, but I think it's best to not blame the putter....just understand you'll have bad putting days/weeks...but the majority of the time you'll putt lights out as you develop a great feel with one putter.

I was in the same boat before I got my hand on a C&L custom putter thanks to William for letting me try one before I bought one for myself and so I ordered on and I sold all the rest of my putter so I cant wait to get it in and start putting with it. Just pick a putter you like and stay with it. Thats what I am going to do with my new C&L putter. If you dont have a custom putter go out and get one and see if that works for you.

Switching putters is the best way to stay sharp on feel. I know TW sticks to one, but he does add and remove lead tape changing the feel. TW devotion to that darn Cameron has messed with a lot of peoples' heads. TONS of top pros throughout history change constantly. If you're having trouble deciding how to pick one putter it's probably because you shouldn't stick with one.

Get fit, find what fits your stroke and eye best. Then get something that has a lock to put all your other putters in, and give the key to your putterholics anonymous sponsor!

Why in the hell would you make that your resolution? This is what happens when you drink. Everybody around saying I will do this and I will do that. There you were with your umpteenth Sam Adams in your hand and before you know it you are outside your body watching yourself make silly promises you have no intention keeping. What happened to the "I am going to loose 10 pounds" for God's sake, everybody expects you to fall short on that one!

Here is what I did.. You can practice(on the practice green or home )but you can`t play with any except for your gamer. That way you get your fix of trying new putters but you bond with the one putter.

Seriously this is the best way to answer the OP's original dilemma.

Choose, decide, game, then play(with the others). Display the "others" on a nice case or shelf and smile at them, for you got yourself a collection at that point. But a gamer IS a gamer...stick with it after you decide. Hell I love my Karsten Anser 2, BUT I want to get a Cameron so badly it is just pathetic, and can't afford it...I do well with the Ping, so I put a Cameron grip on it, and BOOM...my happy gamer. <----a very warped example of self delusion, but I have yet to 3 putt with it. ;)

Peace.

What if you picked two?

Here's my logic - for many years I was a competitive shotgunner. I got to hang around with some of the finest shots in the US. Many of them had a pile of shotguns, but typically only used two - and the two shotguns were VERY different. What I mean is that they would have two competition-ready guns of completely different styles.

The reason for this is that everybody goes through slumps. In putting or shotgunning, you start missing when you think you've got it perfect. It messes with your head. You start making odd adjustments that really are not necessary to try to compensate for where you thought you went wrong on the last one. Before too long you are in a slump, and can't seem to make a shot if your life depended on it.

Here's where the "different" gun or second putter comes in. By switching to something with different weight and balance, your body starts focusing on the fundamentals in order to perform what you're asking for. That one change can smooth out your swing, and cause you to break out of the slump by switching.

So rather than trying to stick with one, pick two. But make them different - that was part of the magic in shotguns. Don't take two 350gm Anser styles and expect it to work. And do your practicing with the putter you're sticking with. Your switching is a conscious choice, and once you've switched you don't go back for a while

That's what I'd do. Of course, I stick with my MizuNardi C03 on the course but rotate through 4 Anser styles at home. :) Do as I say, not as I do.
