Lie angle fitting

I'm getting a new putter and decided to do it right this time by not just taking one off the rack. Got a quick fitting using PING's adjustable fitting putter. Also went thru the PING online webfit wizard. I'm 5'11" and a 33.5" putter feels good (lenght suggested by PING webfit). After a lot of testing in the golf stores, I think I agree with the length suggestion. To get the putter head flat in my setup, I would need it 4* flat. Is it a good idea to go completely flat, or have maybe 1* less flat to have the toe raised just a little? I seem to remember hearing somewhere that Pros like the toe to be raised just a bit. I've been watching the putting closeups during PGA tourney coverage, and the Pros had the toe of the putter raised (Some quite a bit, Kenny Perry for instance), it wasn't flat like the experts say is very important. What's the real deal?

Having the lie on your putter fit to you is important! The putter should be flat to the ground to help you in aiming it on your intended line. The pros should not be your model for anything that you play. You are not capable of playing golf the way they do. Being confident in your equipment is the most important thing. Do what feels and looks right to you.

At 5'11" I don't see 33.5" 4 degree flat working well. Your posture seems to be very hunched over reaching for the ball. I am 5'6" and use a 33" 1 or 2 degrees flat.

Putting is very personal and if you are making lots of putts fine. How's the quality of your contact? Solid or misses?

IMO you might be able to do better.

I don't feel hunched over, in fact I'm trying to make sure I'm avoiding that. I think it is because of my hands being lower and grip. I like the putter handle to be below the butt of my left hand, I saw this in Tiger's book and liked how it felt. I'll revisit my stance in a mirror.

Your height/putter length and lie angle would have little to do with someone elses needs. Putting is so individualistic that each person needs to have this determined for themselves. Primarily the difference will be in how close to the body the hands are, how far away you stand from the ball and your wrist angle.

Perfectly flat would be best. Someone earlier stated that will help you aim it best. That is not necessarily correct, but there is no good reason to have the toe up.
