#1 Putter preference

What is everybody's favrite putter and which putter is used the most on tour.

Probably the Scotty Cameron Newport 2 in all shapes and forms.

I have a TeI3 Newport Two love it... I think Scotty's Newport 2's are definetely the most used putters on tour.

My favorite putter is the Newport 2.5 or Zing style head. Would like to see that type of head at the 350 gram mark.

As far as the tour is concerned...the most popular head is the Anser type head, whether is with the plumber's neck or the Zing type Half-shaft hosel, it is still the most popular...

By far and away Scotty Cameron is the most used on tour...my personal prefrence is hands down Cameron...the Newport Line or anything with a Santa Fe Neck.

Many say they don't but I would call BS on that one. The pros can have anyone make them a putter to what ever specs. You gotta pay to land the big boys :)

Cameron is for sure the number one putters on tour by a mile.

My favorite putter right now is a Guerin Rife Two bar putter. Also like the Yes Marliyn Putter. I really like the roll that both putters put on the ball with the grooved faces. Plus the Rife is very forgiving when not struck exactly perfect and you can change the weight on it.

I love the look of my SC SS Newport 2, but that just can't stand up to the performance of my Bobby Grace GT. I really should sell the SC but it just looks so good. As for on tour, I'd have to say Scotty by far followed by Odyssey.

I like the Del Mar with the plumbers neck or the Laguna 2.5. Neither of which are on tour much, but still nice putters. Futura Camerons are excellent mallets.

I've been brainwashed by the Cameron Collectors website. I've tried all of them, hell i'm even coming around to liking the Newports.

I have 2 favs...

Long Neck Newport style putters, and napa style putters. Although I am a scotty fan, I also love a lot of the competitor's napa designs.

As for the tour, Scotty uses a crown as a logo for a reason :)

I've never even held a SC in my hands so I can't compare it. I do like my Ping Craz-E very much though and it would take something close to a miracle to knock it out of my bag.

im not starting any thing but if scotty pays them then why are they haveing so much success on tour i think its the other way around the players arnt paying scotty but i think they are running to scotty to find a putter for them to play with

I like center shafted putters. Have recently begun to love face balanced blades. Love my Yes Tracy and Odyssey WS #2 CS. May look into getting a Yes Carolyne as well. Also have a BG M6.4K-GT center-shafted but my distance control has been erratic with it of late.

I am not sure what the remaining statistics are, but in 2005, 40 percent of all winners across the PGA, LPGA, Champions, Nationwide, PGA European and Japan Tours used an Odyssey Putter.

2004, I believe that 1 out of every 3 putters was an Odyssey putter.

Favourite putter ive ever used is by Pinfire, its called a Spirit. Beautiful looking and feels so pure it hurts. Knocked my Scotty del mar out of the bag so quick I still dont know where it went.

Gotta try it, I reckon it could be pretty big. Some club.

I'm like a few of the other guys (check my Avatar) I'm a Cameron lover, and prefer the Santa Fe style neck.

Definitely think that SC has more flatties on Tour, not sure if he pays or not, but I'm sure as part of Titleist that he does.

Yes they do... different players different amounts depending on who they are... like Tiger I have heard an where from $35,000 to $50,000 a week but a normal pro i have heard around $1000- $1500 a week. Not too bad!

But my number one putter preference would be Bettinardi. More specifically 44 Magnum Black.

My American Classics III heavy flange bulls eye. You don't get a look this clean from any other putter other than a Napa.

My mate has an old Taylor Made Nubbins, the feel and control off it is amazing! He holes everything

I guess I should say Rossa putters, since I own two of them. I was a Scotty guy for several years, and my two putters now are very similar to Scotty styles: the Maranello sets up a lot like the JAT, and the Daytona is a Newport/Ping Anser design.

One thing I will say is that the new ASGI grooves in the Rossas are awesome. They roll the ball very well and feel great.

I was in the same boat. I switched from a Scotty Laguna 2.5 to the Corza. You are right on the money with the AGSI grooves.
