Miura Irons and wedges---any experiences?

On Miura's site...they list their retailers, not a ton to pick from...not sure if a WRX sponsor sells them...

I too have wanted to get a set, but I just can't buy a club without hitting it, and there are no retailers in Georiga...

So I really think I want to order the bad boys but have never even got to hit one. Us lefties don't get to demo much so can anyone tell me their first hand experiences with the irons and wedges from Miura?? Also, where is the best place to roder them?? Thanks for any info

 

DO NOT buy them until you hit and see them. You need to put them down at address and see if they fit your eye particularly the wedge and wedges. But you must hit them---many do not like the feel of a welded hosel forging. Particularly compare them against one piece forgings like Mizuno.

The last set I ever bought without seeing them or hitting them was a forged set from Bridgestone HM-55s. The came and the 2-7 iron were just beautiful--no offset, thin top line, great sole grind. Then I unpacked the 9-P and almost fell off my chair---couldn't have been the same designer. The 8-P and particularly the P looked like forged refugees from an eye2 set. I have never seen so much offset in a forging and at the same time I have never seen a bigger wedge. I had it explained that a very popular design in japan was the concept of reverse offset in the scoring irons with huge heads---kind of the opposite of what people are normally used to with more offset in the long irons. Needless to say I never hit a ball with them---they were that hideous looking. And the pictures (probably 4-6 iron) looked great.

He's a class A guy, former mini tour player and a member of Clubfitters Technology Group. The leftys aren't listed on his site, but he can get you anything Miura you want, including some Japan only products. Give him a call. Great guy to talk to as he's really tight with Miura and plays them as well.

I hope this doesn't violate rules, mods, but I don't think any sponsors sell them. :)

Ive been trying to find out if the Nakashima NP-1 Forged irons are available in left handed as well but haven't had much luck. Anyone know?? I don't know why I am just in the mood for some soft players cavities right now and want to try something different. I might just order a Miura Cavity 7 iron and a sand wedge to see if I like them first. Sure wish I could find some place to demo them. Thanks for any info guys.
