Tucked, until I start playing poorly...then I don't care about anything

Today was one of those days for me. Started off fully tucked, then got less and less tucked as the day went on. 🙄

Depends on the shirt, mood, course and humidity for the day.
    Both tucked and un-tucked

Me too. I played yesterday at a course where anything goes. I feel out of place wearing golf pants and tucking in shirt. Like if I tucked, I should go play a more high faluting course. Don't want to be a poseur.

As long as you’re not wearing some sort of garish-colored shirt and orange Rickie Fowler pants, there’s no reason long pants and tucked shirts need to be associated with “high-falutin” or “poseur”.

I never feel bad or out of place looking casual but nice.

My club asks for shirts tucked in and I generally keep it tucked in anyways until it's either baking hot or nobody is around.

Mostly tucked, sometimes when playing with friends I will play with shirt untucked but only if shirt isn’t too long

There isn't any question that a shirt tucked in looks sharper, and expresses a more respectful intention. I like proper etiquette on a golf course but under the right circumstances leave mine untucked. I also wear Loudmouth shorts every now and then.

It doesn't look good to tuck your tank top in your board shorts down here in Cali.
At a private club or upscale course, shirt tucked.
    Anywhere else, don't care.
My shirt tuck doesn't determine my level of play.

Always tucked. Add that my club (as most do) requires a shirt be tucked in, and there you have it.

    Tucked, virtually always

There is no question you have more freedom of movement with an untucked shirt but they don't look quite as sharp and respectful as one that is tucked. I just received instructions for a tournament I will be playing in at a private course and the tournament director specifically informed us that tucked in golf shirts are mandatory, with "tucked in golf shirts" in bold lettering.

I'm actually surprised that the dominant response on this thread is tucked. I'm a strong advocate of untucked. I think it's a better look nowadays. A good fit, but untucked looks better, to my eye.

Maybe it's a regional thing, but I think I'm actually in the majority (untucked) for the courses I play here in Colorado. We're more laid back, in general, about many things, of course, so this would seem to be consistent with that trend. This holds even on the nicer courses I play. (I rarely play private courses, however.)

I think age plays a part and thats OK. I grew up wearing it tucked in, thats how my dad wore it and likely his dad before him.

For me I roll both ways. Casual fun rounds untucked. Serious and competitive tucked in.

    Both can look great.

Untucked requires a certain style/cut and if it’s not that it looks sloppy. I try to avoid looking sloppy so I’m a tucked guy.

My club requires it be tucked, and honestly that's how I've always rolled anyways. I like it tucked better.

    First tee: tucked
The degree of untucked that it becomes thereafter is purely up to the gods.

I seen a fellow dressed in exactly like the guy in the photo in jean overalls, with beer in hand. He was having a good time, it appeared.

On course curses and Benefits by stroke. Seeing a guy in jeans costs you 2 strokes, playing with one costs 4. Guy wearing the frilled shoelace flap on wingtips good for a hole out and birdie . Seeing Any golf sandal,...... just walk off course. Hearing metal spikes on cart path will win any match play. John Daly type of attire could give you a slice or a month yet wearing it causes 1 stroke improvement per side. Untuck shirt while unpleasant just no real effect either way.

Lol, I know the feeling. Also, after a triple bogey it's much harder to replace a divot as well!
