Any courses over in Europe?

So, who all here has played some of the great courses over in Europe? I hope someday I get the chance to play the great courses like Carnoustie, Ballybunion, Turnberry, Royal County Down, Royal Birkdale, Royal Melbourne, and of course the Grand Mecca, The Old Course at St. Andrews.

I have been very fortunate to play St. Andrews Old, New, Dukes, Jubilee, Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, Turnberry, Western Gailes, Prestwick, and my favorite Loch Lomond. If you ever get a chance to play in Europe, go for it, it is a great experience. Also, Royal Melbourne is in Australia, not Europe, but I hear it is a great course.

if anybody is coming over to watch the Open this year then bring your sticks and play at Wallasey golf club which is one of the courses for the LFQ (local final qualifying). it is just down the road from Hoylake (Royal Liverpool). i will be happy to try and arrange for a game there during the Open week for our US friends if possible because my uncle is a member there and i live nearby.

Ballybunnion ,lahinch ,waterville, Adare Manor, Mount Juliet[Am-Ex 04'] all within an hour an a half!!! yay!!

Just for the record. Royal Melbourne is in Australia which happens to be pretty much on the opposite side of the globe from Europe. There are some really fine courses directly in Europe but since golf isn't that big a sport in middle Europe people don't know these courses.

hmmmm, that's funny because 4 of the 6 which are in Europe on that list are Open Championship venues. plus, those four are in Scotland, which, last time i checked was the birth place of the game!? the other two are courses in Ireland and are EXTREMELY good. and finally, Scotland and Ireland are not in middle Europe as you put it, they are about as far west as you can go!

There are a lot of good courses over hear. I have played ST.Andrews New and Jubilee and i will be playing the Old. All fantastic courses. To add to dannypharvey's comment about coruses near liverpool, i would recommend Formby. It is brilliant and i believe that it is also a open qualifer course. RCD aint bad either! :)

Maybe I didn't express myself clearly enough. What I meant to say is that there are really fine courses in the heart of Europe. Other courses than those that were listed earlier.

3) St. Andrews (OLD & New)

4) Royal Liverpool

5) Royal Portrush

I advise that any chance you have to venture over to Europe, bring your sticks and play! I regret not coming over sooner. I will now plan a trip every two years to come over and play. Playing in Europe makes you appreciate the courses in the US even more. You have to play a different game in Europe, controlled ball flight and premium on short game.

Expand your horizons and travel as much as you can!!
