Hybrid Selections

If my 3 wood is 15* and My 5 iron is 26* what loft hybird would you play?

19* and 22* or 20* and 23*

AND

if I play a 4 wood in place of 3 wood @ 17*

and my 5 iron is 26* then what hybrid lofts would you play?

I would probably go with the 20 and 23* either situation. I say this due to the gap between the 4 hybrid and the 5 iron. Using this combo and a 4 wood would work nicely.

My 3 wood is 15*, my 5 iron is 26*, my 4 iron is 23* , my hybrid is 21*, my 5 wood is 18*. Please note too that sevral hybrids with the same loft sometimes have different shaft length. As far as your choices, if I drop my 4 iron and 5 wood, then I'd go with the 19* and 22* because it allows me to choke down a bit on the clubs if I need a 20* or a 23* shot, plus there's less gap between the 15* 3 wood and the 19* hybrid. Hope that makes sense.

I've actually played a 17* 4 wood only along with the 20* and 23* Cobra baffler hybrids, my 5 iron is still at 26*. This is a real playable set for me but somehow, I still want to keep my 4 iron and my 3 wood so my current set up is the 15* 3 wood, 18* 5 wood, 21* hybrid, 23* 4 iron and 26* 5 iron. If I don't feel comfortable hitting the 4 iron, I sometimes choke down on the 21* hybrid.

I play a 17* 4 Wood and a 20* Hybrid, and I like the distance gaps that it gives me. I would recommend the 20* / 23* Hybrid combination.

I find irons play at least one club shorter (at equal loft) than hybrids for me. Because of that, I'd look at playing the 19* with the 23*. That spread might fill the gap more efficiently. Nickent and some of the other hybrids give you more options in lofts.

To me, going with the 4-wood sounds like a better option if you want to drop all the way to the 5-iron. If you go with the 4-wood, then the 20 and something like a 24* sounds right to me.

I play a 17* 4w, 20* 7w and 23* hybrid and also a 26* 5 iron so I find the yardage gaps pretty near perfect for me.
