Shaft flex too soft in Launcher Comp Driver?

driver launches extremely high!!!
What problems can one run into if the driver shaft flex if too soft? For example, I just bought a Cleveland Launcher Comp 10.5* w/ stock shaft in an "R" flex. I have never hit a driver so straight in my life. But I seem to be launching the ball WAYYYY to high, to the point where I get absolutely no roll when the ball lands. The distance isnt that great either. I can get 10-15 more yards from my fathers R5 N (has the stock shaft in "R" flex) and just a bit more than that from my old Cally 454 with the ProLaunch shaft in "R" flex. With the Comp, the ball just drops and sits there. Is it possible that the shaft is too soft for my swing? I swing at around 95-98 mph. The shaft seems "whippy" as well. What should I do? Should I change it for an "S" flex, or should I look to get a shaft with a Mid-High bend point like the Aldila "NV" and "NVS"? How about the ProLaunch? I know the Prolaunch launches it high with reduced spin, which should give me some roll, but I already hit the ball really high. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I played the same combo for a couple of rounds (good deal on EBAY) before I had the 10.5 re-shafted, ballflight was too high with too much backspin, the ball was backing up on me after it landed some of the time. The stock R flex is really soft. I'd keep the driver and just re-shaft if I was in your place, but I'm a fan of the Launcher Comp. If you intend to stay with an R flex shaft I can gaurantee that the Prolaunch R is more stout than the stock R launcher shaft = PL R flex should play a bit lower with less backspin. I've read many positive things about the Launcher Comp paired with an Aldila NV, again if you decide to play R flex the NV R might be a very good match as well. The advantage of the PL or NV (or stock shaft in S flex) is that Cleveland can do the work for you and you won't void the manufacturers warranty.

The NV is a very good shaft with the Comp. I have a 10.5 with an NV65s. It get a very nice high and penitrating ball flight. My swing speed might be a little more than yours 98-101. I would consider myself more of a swinger than a hitter with a medium tempo. I find the "S" to be about perfect. I have never hit longer drives in my life and in addition they go on the fairway.

The NV will lower the ball flight for sure, it will be stiffer the "R" will be stiffer than the "R" you are playing now. The Comp is a pretty high spinning clubface, so I have found you need to counteract that with a shaft like the NV.

I am not a big fan of the prolaunch shaft. It does not fit my swing. I get WAY too much spin with it. (4000+ rpm in a HiBore compared to 2200 rpm with a V2).
