Nothing real big just another comp

Most of the Cobra reps. got their samples of the new Cobra driver due out in June. The only interesting thing is they use those lampkin dual density grips in various colors to go with the shafts. Other than that it just looks like a replacement for the 454 Comp. driver. Yeah Cobra didn't learn their lesson and did another comp. driver. Hopefully this won't be priced at $399 since nobody will pay that for a Cobra driver. Too bad I thought they were going to get rid of the speed series but the retailers claim the sales are picking up on those now that the golf season is starting most everywhere.

Cobra's price point has always been one of it's strength's. The comp is a great driver. I hope this new one is priced right. Cobra is one of the best kept secrets out there.

I really like mine other than it split on me a couple of weeks ago. I carried it back to where I bought it and they were getting rid of them so they were not going to give me much credit. Lucky enough they had one left so I made a swap which is fine if it does not split again. I sure think the last one hit better than this one. Maybe the new one will be new and improved. Don't they always do that so you will buy the new one?

There didn't appear to be much new technology in the club just looking at it, but they didn't have any of the tech data sheets to explain how this one is better than the 454. Also unless something has changed the comp. is the only cobra driver in play on the tour by the new cobra guys. JB uses the comp. Poulter used a speed for a little while but has gone back to his TM the last time I saw him.

I have a buddy who has split 3 of the 454 Comp's on the top where the composite and face connect and he is a short hitter playing a regular flex shaft and swings about 85 mph. He just split the third one last week in a golf tournament we were in. He was hacked. That alone has completely kept me away from trying a composite driver from anyone.

Makes you wonder how many JB Holmes might have broken doesn't it? I did find it interesting he would chose that model. Evidently from the way they described it, they just sent him or had him hit a few models with no real launch monitor work and he picked the comp.
