Titleist 660's w/TC X1's Too High?

I set a goal for myself this summer to move my game one step closer to scratch (currently playing @ GHIN 3.0). I really haven't had any formal lessons since High School(14yrs. ago:), so I decided a few weeks ago that I would go to my local PGA Master Pro to checkout my swing. To make a long story short he helped me identify a number of problem areas the main one being a loss of distance on all iron shots. It ends up that I'm not completing my swing through the ball, almost like I'm trying to hit a punch with every swing. It could have been the 8 months I spent playing in the West Texas wind, or the fact that I tore my left ACL and was favoring the knee and not making a full turn on the irons.

To the point, now that I am starting to get through the ball like I should have been. My distance is back, but I am hitting the 660's so high its not going to be a good thing once I get back in a windy situation. I love the feel of the irons but I am thinking about selling the 660's, those of you that have experience with the 660's is this a normal ball flight? What irons would you guys suggest?

The Irons are Titliest 660's Std. Loft/Lie, Tour Concept X1's, Blueprinted by a local custom shop.

It may be the tour concept shafts. I hit them and they tended to balloon on me. Even played them in an x1 like you. They felt nice but spun way too much.

Sell the 660s and get a set of 681s. No offset, heavier feel(if you don't like that you can get DG SLs), and lower ballflight, plus a much better forging than newer Titleists.

I played the 681's when they first came out back in 2001, they were a great iron. Might have to try them again.

Bake

Making a swing change or managing the game in different conditions will yield better results then to just make an equipment change to play in windy conditions. Hitting the ball high is a very good thing. If you need to flight the ball lower take 2 more clubs and punch the ball like you used to or make a half swing.

Tiger hits the ball higher than anyone, when he needs to get the ball down, he adapts his current setup tothe conditions.

If the irons work for you under normal conditions, try and make them work for you in all conditions.
