Nike's forging process, how does it compare?

Where does their forgings rank compared to Mizuno, Titleist, etc.?

endo forged like titliest..

nike use 1030 carbon steel

titleist use 1025 steel.

mizuno use 1025

tthat being said.. nike is a great forged club.. almost as soft as mizuno.. but more like titleist since the same place forges them..

but hogan and mizuno are still the best feeling of them all.

Nike, Hogan, Titleist, TM etc. all forged at one of Endo's houses. Also sadly Mizuno seems to have a partnership with a plant in china---probably in an attempt to keep the prices down but could also mean that they are experienceing volume success with their last two offerings. I read in a material trade publication that Miura was considering Thailand and Taiwan for expansion as well.

doesnt supprise me, their blades and CB Protos are pretty much modeled after Titleist or Mizuno, but i will agree that miz and hogan are the softest feeling forged clubs, dont like the chrome wear though, they always seemed to be a bit more fragile than some of titleists stuff.

I hope that I am not thread jacking here - but since we are comparing different forgeding processes.

I was told from a local Mizuno rep that all mizuno's have marking, I believe with different serial number, that show where they where forged so that Mizuno could track the new China factory to make sure tolerences where as tight as their other factory. It sounded like a trail and error, sorta checks and balances type of system.

Has anyone heard this? If so, does anyone know how to tell which factory a set of Mizuno's came from?

The rep did also mention that the first run of irons that came out of the China factory that where released to the public did not have the same manufacturing tolerences as their other factory - but that they were very close and hardly anyone would be able to tell the difference.
