Taylor Made R5 TP Vs. Titleist 905R

I could not control the R for the life of me. Maybe I was having an off week, but I'd prefer the r5 ALWAYS over the R. But I think the J33 460 and the Exotics are better than either of them.

I play the R5 TP and have hit the 905R on the range, but never on the course. The R5 TP just feels better to me and gave me more distance. I haven't heard great things about the 905R, but the R5 TP has lots of fans.

I have both of them. Switched from the r5 Tp (Aldila NVS) to the 905r (V2 65). I loved the r5 Tp, but the 905r just gives me more distance and workability. My driving accuracy was 6 of 14 now it's 9 or 10. The 905r for me is also more forgiving. But the feel of the r5 Tp is definetely a plus, it's better than the r.

I don't know if there is any difference in distance with the correct shaft but the 905R is stupid easy to hit solid and keep in play. I have every driver known to man and it is as easy to hit as any.

For me, it's the R5 TP. I have the 905R in the garage, and no matter what shaft I put in it, it doesn't come close to replacing my R5. For me, the R5 out shines the 905R in every category you mention.

I will say this, if you go with the R5, spend the money and get a "Tour" head and have the right shaft put in it. As good as the retail R5 TP is, a well built and fitted "Tour" model kills it.

I go the 905R. It is so easy to hit, and only wants to go straight. Personally I like it's feel over the R5. It is very forgiving and only goes straight, which means it has a little less workability than the R5. I was having trouble shaping the ball for a week or two after I got it (it was just going too straight, never thought I cold say that about a club) but then it just clicked and now I can work it how I want. Feels great, goes long, super straight and I can now move the ball where I want.
