Hi sorry this happened that's a sickening thing I'm sure. Dropping a hundy on new shoes only to have them marked up like that hurts big time! Here is what i might try if all else fails. I used one of those Spray and Sash power stain sticks on a pair of old golf shoes once. Now these shoes were white and just stained (Badly) from use. I had the same situation, soap and water etc nothing worked. I applied that stick to a lightly moistened shoe and let it sit for several minutes. In my case the stains came out instantly with literally no elbow grease. Again, this was just several seasons of stains from play and not an industrial dye used in garment manufacturing. Also, clorox makes sprays that have bleach in them in much lower levels than laundry bleach. You might try using a small amount of that, applied to a rag them lightly rub in circles. I am not sure what bleach spray will do to the leather but again the spray cleaners are highly diluted. I would only use a mild bleach solution if the shoes are unwearable as they are now. The only upside is that if she has to buy new ones she will have these as range shoes and can keep her gamer shoes in better condition for much longer. The other option I just thought of is go to a craft store and get a leather paint/decorating kit and let her just have at it if she's at all artistic. Or do it together and make it a competition.

Sincerely,

[s]Martha Stewart[/s] Mark

You got a nice way about you. I thank you for the positive and insightful comments. We will try the bleach for sure. How can something so obvious elude me:) Maybe that will do the trick. If not, I am digging the "range shoes" idea. Just keep them in the bag all the time and use them for practice. Then I can take her out and buy some BLACK OR BROWN golf shoes to wear when we play. See, the thing is, I am just getting her into golf. She has Callaway clubs in a Callaway cart bag waiting on her for Christmas (she has no clue). She has golf lessons in Jan (again, no clue). So I get her a $140 rain top the other day as I was playing in some bad Cape Cod weather. Get her a Callaway hat (will have meaning later), and these golf shoes. Stained red?? WTF.

Be very careful with the bleach solution. I tried that once on a pair of Ecco shoes and it started to take the finish off the shoes.
I use SImple Green on my white shoes. I spray it on and rub it in with my fingers. Then let it sit for a minute and then use a stiff brush to clean. It does a great job. Makes them look like new, but this is for regular cleaning. I'm not sure how it will help with your stains.
Bought them today at Edwin Watts. Played in wet conditions today and they are stained where her pants touched the shoes. Soap and water would not clean. $100 footjoy shoes? Any ideas on how to clean??
Don't waste your time. Call FootJoy, and explain your situation with the; wet conditions, durability of the shoes. If push comes to shove tell them, "my wife's feet were soaked after the round". FootJoy will give you a RA# (return authorization#). You can take them to any FootJoy retailer, and have them warrantied.

This is what I did with my Adidas Tour 360 1st editions. I didn't make up a story however....my feet were actually soaked! I don't think you need to make up a story, usually golf shoe companies are extremely easy going. Good luck.

It might sound fishy, but I used Purple Power tire cleaner on all of my white shoes, and it always took the stains off. I would also reapply some waterproofing after I cleaned them every time. It's the orange topped camping water proofing stuff they sell at wal-mart. It's name escapes me right now, and I'm at work so I can't go look at it.

Thanks for the suggestions on cleaning the shoes.

For you other goobers, I never said it was FJ's fault, simply that I wanted to get the stains out. You should read more carefully before commenting. It was likely a die in the black slacks. Either way, my wife has red and white golf shoes:)

If you haven't done it already, get a Magic Eraser as suggested early on. You won't believe how well these things work -- and on EVERYTHING. I wouldn't bother with any of the other messy solutions, as the ME will work, and the first time.

Be gentle with it at first. You'll be amazed. I have no idea why these things work so well, but they just do.

I'm convinced that the only people who are skeptical about these things are the ones who haven't yet used 'em. I haven't come across anyone who thinks they don't work as advertised (better, really), or even think they're just "ok."

Magic Eraser is slightly abrasive, that's how it "erases"...but if you use it too much, not so good.
The other thing to try is to make a paste of baking soda and water (texture like Colgate paste toothpaste), rub it on the stain and see how that works. It is a very fine abrasive. You don't want to ruin the leather with harsh chemicals like bleach.
After you clean the shoes, you may want to put a waterproofing treatment on the leather, also.

It's not how...it's how many
