SC Mil Spec Tribute putter I just did...

In memory of my grandmother...

I recently picked up a Mil Spec very cheap (was mis-marked obviously, but it's their mistake not mine). I paid $15 for it. I've been wanting one for a while now, and when I saw this one, even though it was a 34" model (which was fine because I really wanted a 33" model for the headweight), I bought it. Even if I hated it, I could have made money on it. Well, I originally reshafted it with a Frequency Filter shaft and gamed it the next day just to see how I liked it. I ended up loving it.

Then, last Tuesday(before Thanksgiving), my grandmother passed away. Since I was refinishing the putter anyway, I decided to make it a tribute putter, that I'll never sell (after putting with it I'd already decided to keep it). She was always the one that would be the first to go play putt putt with me when we went on vacation, so what's more fitting than paying tribute to her on my putter?

It's really simple, but holds significant value to me. I restored the head, removing all dings. I then polished up the areas I wanted polished (still haven't put it on the buffing wheel yet, that will come later and there are grease spots from my hands right now). But here's where I'm at. Trying to decide on paintfill colors. I'm thinking of going with pink and white. Yes, it won't match the red and black paintfill theme on the rest of the clubs, but I think pink and white pays more tribute to her, as that's often the colors she wore. Regardless, it's a simple tribute I dedicated to her. Now I just gotta degrease it and polish along with paintfill it.

I'm also going to order an AM&E headcover for this putter, but haven't yet nailed down the design. Which closure type would everyone recommend, snap-fit or velcro?

That's really thoughtful of you to dedicate a this to your late grandmother.

Great pick up for $15 and nice work on the restoration! can't wait to see the finished pictures.

This could go nicely with pink and white color scheme

Paintfill is done. All that's left to do is buff it out. The bottom isn't smeared, it's the spots from the acetone where it dried and I haven't wiped it off or buffed it yet. Regardless, I'm pleased how it turned out. I will be putting the Frequency Filter shaft back in it and the Pink Iomic grip should be here Wednesday. I literally just finished it and plan on buffing it back up and getting the greasy fingerprints and acetone residue off of it.
