New players iron help

Suggestions welcome

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for the help. I am in the market for a new set of irons. Brand and price don’t matter. I currently play X-20 Tours. I hit my stock 8 iron 153. Driver swing speed is 107. I have hit the Taylor Made Burners and love the ball flight, feel, and added distance. I just can’t get use to the bulk and offset.

I see that on Tour Spec Golf they have new Burner TP’s. However, they decreased the loft compared to the US non TP version.

So my question is this. Should I take a chance and order the Japan TP version and then change the shaft to something that fits me well?

Or should I get fit and hit all the US clubs with multiple shafts? What clubs do you suggest?

I would personally suggest hitting different clubs until you find one that fits you. I have a bad habit of buying clubs to try, then never selling them once I determine they are not for me. This is an expensive habit, and I buy used.

Great ideas bigred90gt.

Never, never, never buy a set of irons off the rack. So many changes every year, so many great clubs on the market. Demo everything you can, find the set you like, then get fit and order specs that are perfect for you. Have some fun with the hunt...

If price is not a problem, spend some extra money on getting a fitting by a real profesional. $100 ro $200 is not too much to invest.

If you like the JDM burners, buy them. Then take them to a shop and have them bent to the lofts you're comfortable with.

They'll only charge you $3-$5 PER CLUB. So, you can basically customize your 3-PW for $24-$40 plus tax.
