Launch monitor & demo have same results...........
Fellow golf ball wacker guys..........
Splurged on a 10.5* V2 BB - S last year and have had very mixed results. I KNOW it's a $300 shaft and there's loads of V2 love on this site but I still had off days and the forgiveness just wasn't there like it was with my previous HiBore XL & Nike 5000. Those 2 clubs still found fairways on my off days (both with stock stiffs). In local PGA Store I have hit new 10.5 G15 with stock stiff. BOTH launch monitors and on course demo have shown that the G15 if MUCH more forgiving and just as long as my much more expensive V2 with BB. Anybody else experience this? Am I crazy? I have always hit shafts that are on the lower end of stiff (5.5) with a softer tip due to my lower ball flight. Could that be why? Isn't the BB a tip stiff lower launching shaft and the stock stiff would be a higher launching softer tip? I do have a stiff YS6+ I could throw in the V2 but I still that head is just not as forgiving as advertised. FYI, my ball speed is 146-150, naturaly low, and 4.2 index, thanks for your help!!!!!!!!

This is almost my story to a T. Almost the same index (4.4), average swing speed around 95, and a mid-launch. I found that I hit the V2 BB a long way in every direction; the length was great, but dispersion on the BB is NOT a strength, IMO. My take is that I'm not going to be especially long anyway, so I've GOT to hit fairways.

In my case, I put an Xcon5 into the V2 and have been very happy with the results. I get a higher launch and more control than I did with the BB, and don't feel like I've given up any distance to speak of. It was a much more expensive fix than I wanted, but it was the best shaft for me, and I play enough golf to justify doing that once every few years.

As to the Ping stock shaft, if the monitor shows the results you want, I wouldn't hesitate. This is all about performance, and if that shaft does it for you, then ride it. BTW, the only reason I didn't really give serious thought to the stock shaft in the V2 was because I could NOT stand to look at it; that's not a problem with the G15. I have two of the G15 hybrids with the stock shaft, and really like the look of them. It's a far cry from that green thing that came in the V2.
