Just got fitted
Hey All,

I just got back from a driver club fitting (launch monitor all the whole 9 yards). It came down to the R9 vs Titleist DComp. They were basically neck and neck. I liked the DComp better so I am going to go with that model.

I tried about 10 shafts and the Matrix Ozik XCon5 was the best fit.

The stock shaft Titleist Ozik XCon5 was # 2 on the list.

I googled for a while but couldnt actually find what the difference between the 2. Obviously the Titleist one was built specifically for Titleist. I couldn't find the specs for it.

The difference in price is $200. So I am trying to figure out if its worth the $200 upgrade.

Anyone have any experience with the 2 shafts? The Regular XCon-5 was a few yards longer and a little tighter. Not sure if its $200 better though.

Thanks in advance guys.

fyi - club fitting was inside (snow on the ground here in ny). Only saw the ball flight on a computer screen. Anyone have personal experiences with this shaft? Never used a high launch shaft so I am a little scared.

The "Made For" version plays a little softer. You can get very similar results tipping the "Made for" version 1" image/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> and save $200

    amtrac,

I have an xcon 5 in my Taylormade R7 CBG Max Limited. From what I know it is a true Xcon 5 and not specifically made for Taylormade. It is a good shaft that launches highs but bores after it gets up.

I just ordered a 909DComp as well but ordered the Xcon 6. If you go to the Titleist site and click on the 909 DComp there is a shaft chart in PDF form that you can click on to get the shaft specifics.

Here is what I pulled off their site:

    Titleist Xcon 5 - 62 grams in S flex, and 4.5 torque

    Xcon 5 - 59 grams in S flex, and 4.0 torque

    Xcon 6 - 68 grams in S flex, and 2.5 torque

    Titleist Xcon 6 - 66 grams in S flex and 3.9 torque

Since both the Titleist Xcon 5 and 6 come as stock shafts for the 909DComp perhaps you should try the Titleist Xcon 6. It is 7 grams heavier but only 0.1 more stiff on torque. May be worth checking out to save you $200. I just orded my 909DComp from TGW.com for $254 shipped. Just so you know, I ordered a 909DComp 10.5, Titleist Xcon 6. My swing speed is 106 with a smooth tempo. Good luck! Let us know what you decide on.

ahhh i found some stuff on their site but i didn't find what you posted. That was exactly what I was looking for. $254 is an awesome price. I think I might put my order in today with them.

Titleist xCon6 was like #4 on my list. It was a few yards less but more accurate for me. I am an accurate player so the extra few yards would help me more.

Thanks for your help again BowHunter!
