Looking to become a sponsered junior at a local golf club

Hi guys, i'm looking to become a sponsered junior at one of my local golf clubs up in Canada. Before the golf season ended last year i was hitting 79-82 (age 14) off championship tees. But our golf season here is pretty short (4-6 months), so the golfers here aren't as good as you guys in the U.S.

Basically what I am asking is what our these clubs looking for to 'suprise' them. Like grades in school, volunteering expierience etc.

Any help is appreciated, I'm also attending a golf school, so i presume that would help.

Basically getting sponsered at a club is being able to play there without having to buy their share. Sometimes they want you to play tournaments in their clubs name etc. I'm in Alberta. golfed from june-mid september this year, it was a short season...

I honestly doubt a golf course will give a junior free green fees just to play in their tournaments. And you'd definitely have to be like agja ranked.

Dude, its not to play in THEIR tournaments. Its to play in local/regional/national tournaments while having your name attached to their club. It would be akin to being made an honorary member at a club here in the states.

If you're looking for sponsor(s) you have a better chance of finding that at a private club, vs public course.  At my last club a group of (25) members including me sponsored six juniors.  We paid for his equipment, lessons and some travel expenses to events that we thought were beneficial to his learning process.  It's important to expose yourself to people that have financial reserves and willingness to throw some money away based on predetermined criteria; which varies per person(s).  Our stipulation was we needed to see grades, dedicated practice and see them show leadership in some fashion.

Thanks for the help, i was planning to at a private course as well. Do you recommend contacting the course, or members at the course (My dad is freinds with three).

Its best to find out if the club has a junior sponsorship program; if so how it's run.  If not, become acquainted with members that might know other members that are willing to assist juniors.  The head Pro might be able to help as well.
