Can I be Kwok'd

mid capper, dont have big game, but really enjoy golf...ALOT
Like I said, I don't have big game, but golf is rapidly transforming from a hobby of about 15 years into a deeply seeded passion; golfWRX has had huge influence on me in this area in the last couple of months. I've never actively participated in golf during the off season (which is too long in NJ imo), but I dedicated myself to new instruction from a respected local pro and have practiced at the range at least 2 dozen times already this year. Once the courses are playable, I'm going to make it a goal to hit the courses at least 25 times this season, which is about twice my average.

Here's the thing, I want to have my clubs fitted the by highly reputable Mr. Joe Kwok. However, I'm only a 12 capper, smooth swinger, and inconsistent w/ my misses b/c I'm in between swings right now due to my new instruction. Also, I've gone through and paid for 2 fittings already this year: one w/ an older, indoor fitting system/software, and the other was trackman. The older fitting system said my driver SS is 103. The trackman says my SS is 93-95. Fitters say I can play both regular and stiff flexes, but can't seem to pinpoint which. Therefore, I've kinda lost a little faith in the whole "everyone should be fit for clubs" ideology. Furthermore, being fit over the phone sounds preposterous to me; how would Joe know my dynamic specs or be able to blue print me? However, everyone on WRX whose been fitted by Joe makes him sound like some sort of club fitting demi-god.

So my question: would it even be worth it for me to inquire about a fitting w/ Joe despite all the faults in my swing and my very average handicap?

If you've got info from a Trackman fitting, I'd think Joe could definitely work with you.

Allow me to clarify. I do know the benefits of fitting as I've read and seen others improve performance upon their fittings. I've been fitted myself, twice. They were in person, where I actually swung a golf club. However, in respect to one another, the fittings yielded totally different numbers. So I ended up more confused. But with Joe, I'd have to be fit over the phone. How's he going do this and get it right when even the 2 previous fittings where I was physically present can't seem to end up side by side? Someone convince me, please.

I've seen him do it many times.

i am in process of being kwoked over the phone for wedges. joe has spent several hours with me over the phone asking first general questions then very specific questions on my short game. i even let him talk me into steel shafts although i have played only graphite my whole golfing life. these wedges are being built based upon my specifications of what i want from a wedge. his phone number is 650-745-8448. if you just give him time to ask the right questions or fill out his questionairre on complete iron sets he will have more than enough info to fit you perfectly.

I am in NJ and paid $50 for a phone discussion with JK literally yesterday. I do not have any LM numbers, but I know what I like and what my spec's are. I think that shows that I have no problem with a long distance fitting. And, my current set of irons was built by Dana Upshaw in Georgia. I never met him in my life (still haven't). I had not spoken to JK before except a couple of random e-mails and I had a couple of video clips of my swing that I e-mailed him. I only know of him through this and other forums. Based on the positive feedback I was willing to invest $50. After speaking with him yesterday I will be moving forward with a new set of irons. When I look at the $50 fee it is well worth it when I am spending this much money. Quality and craftsmanship isn't cheap. I also agree that some people should hit clubs in person if they don't what their spec's are (head type, size, shaft, etc, etc). I happen to know what I like and what I am looking for in my new set. I think it is safe to say there is no right or wrong, but I was not scared off by the long distance or $50 initial fee. Good luck whatever you choose.

I wonder why he's charging money for some phone conversations and not others. Anyway, thanks for the info, guys.

Phone conversation are FREE!

Phone conversation involving fitting, consultation and answering all technical questions regarding the fitting are not.

All my repeatable customers can vouch for me on how I handle them time and time again.

Bare in mind, I received enough emails that might affected my service for my paying customers who deserve my first priority attention.

For free advise :
