Taking girl from high school golfing

Recommended Posts

Help me!
We are both 15 and she always wanted to hang out with me. She moved to SC and is here from out of town since her dad still lives here and I said lets go to your country club and mess around. I am a single digit handicapper, and she plays some golf but mainly tennis. We are going tomorrow to play golf and hang out there. I never been on a date, let alone just me and a girl. Im shy, and want to know what to say and do. Do I make a move at all. Let me know. All advice is appreciated :)

What to do....this answer could go in a LOT of directions! LOL

I think the best think you could do is make sure you find her ball for her, follow it, take her right to her ball in the cart, clean her ball and clubs.....have beer available if you're into that, if not, definitely some pop, maybe some chips or perhaps a nice selection of mixed nuts.

I wouldn't try to give her any tips or anything like that....that always goes over like a lead balloon in my experience.

Most of all, bust out some good (not BRUT) cologne and try to smell good....girls like guys that smell good :)

Good luck dog!

Rule One-Be yourself

Rule Two-Dont let her drive the golf cart

Rule Three- DONT FORGET RULE ONE.

Rule Four-Look fresh to death and remember your p's & q's.

Side note- Dont hit her with a club or ball or snap a towel on her rear end while she bends over to mark her ball.......worked for me but maybe not for you!

Good luck Buddy!good.gif

Like these guys have said already, dress well, be respectful and don't worry about how you play in front of her (you're not there to impress her with your golf game). Most of all just BE YOURSELF and everything should turn out alright. She obviously likes you for who you are already, all you need to do now is have fun and be confident. You've already asked her to hang out so the hard part is over. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Have fun, make sure that the focus is more about hanging out than the golf, don't make a fool of yourself (after all you're at her CC from the sounds of it), and come up with a few stupid bets.... There's a good chance you'll meet the dad too seeing that it's his weekend with her and if it's nice he'll probably be at the club. Prep for that.

just relax and don't worry about trying to make moves or whatnot on the course,

pay the proper amount of attention to her, and if you have a good time out there ask her out for a different outing like dinner or a movie or whatever it is you guys do these days

don't fall into the friendzone though, if you like her you'll have to make some sort of move soon.

Relax. Don't over think it. Just go play some golf (less competitively than you might normally ... ), share some laughs. And don't worry about "making a move". No need for that, bro. Just enjoy the day let it happen naturally. I mean "it" as in "the day". No need to "try" anything.

Searching for the sweet spot.

First thing - don't go to a golf website for dating advice. Most of these guys are still trying to figure out their cialis meds.

Since this the junior section, I'm fairly confident most of us aren't ripping free 30 day trials out of golf digest just yet..
As for the OP's original question, a lot of good answers. I'll just give you a couple quick little pointers I think will help.
1) Nothing wrong with being nervous, girls tend to find it sweet, as it shows you care.
2) Golf is secondary. Whether you shoot 100 or 59, you're there for her, not the round.
3) As far as making a move goes, thats totally your personal call. It all depends on the mood, something you have to gauge. Since it's the first date, i'd say waiting is better than rushing. If its going well, maybe after the round you guys can find a nice quiet place to sit and talk. If she wants you to, you'll know. Just be respectful, and you'll earn the second date.
4) HAVE FUN! It's a date, enjoy it!
Good luck man, let us know how it goes, I'm rootin for ya!

Enough has been said already but I just wanted to chime in and say good luck and be yourself. Don't be a jerk and the moves will make themselves...

edit: that may have made me sound like a jerk...anyways, you sound like a kid who means well and at least cares enough to ask for the advice that some would think they may not need--she will notice that as long as you just act like yourself.

Do the "point and follow" at every put thats going in the hole, and set the course record. Look at how many broads it netted El Tigre. If that fails, get a hat made that says "IM A BILLIONAIRE"

Make sure you look like you belong at her club, you are a guest remember. Be very polite, gracious and make sure you look the part, wear your best golf clothes and make sure your golf shoes are clean, don't show up with you sunday mudders. You don't want to embarrass her, yourself, or especially her father by looking like a bum at their club. After the round make sure you thank her and her dad if you see him for the day. These are the little things that will get you invited back again.
And like a few have said before have fun and be yourself.

x2

Make sure you look the part, put on some good cologne (not something you can get from a gas station LOL ) and try to be yourself.

I think the advice about thanking her Dad for the opportunity to go to the club and play as a guest is excellent! If you are in good with the old man it makes life a lot easier down the track!

Not that this is about me. But this makes me feel so incredibly old. The thing to remember is she is going to be just as nervous as you are and maybe even more so. It's her club after all, you are her guest. Be sure to be courteous to the staff there, lots of ''Yes sirs'' and ''Thank you Ma'ams'' Compliment the club. And thank her first thing for the invite. Play your game but be willing to help her with hers. But that doesn't mean you have to be critical. "Well what i try to do on shots like this" is a lot better than "no no no no!"

The spirit of this "be yourself advice" is honorable but come on. You know you are gonna be nervous and frankly for most of us, "our self" is likely pretty disappointing to any fair lass. Maybe it's better said to be Your best. Have fun and don't take yourself to seriously.

15 year old WRX charter member? You must really love this site...that's great.

Everything has pretty much been said already. If you find yourself being nervous, just remember that she's there because she wants to be. You might also have to remind yourself that you're there because you want to be also. If you really consider this a date, don't even think about your score, the fact that you're a single capper, and just relax. Don't forget to have conversation during the round. Have fun and chat it up, otherwise it's going to be a looooong round. Give her your attention no matter how you are hitting that day. Be a gentleman and teach her how to be a lady on the course as well, as golf is a game of respect and etiquette. You don't have to baby her during the whole round, but if you see something in her swing that might quickly fix an errant shot, tip her to it and she'll probably appreciate your knowledge....and you don't have to do the "stand behind her as she addresses the ball and wrap your arms around her. Bring some extra cash to treat her to snacks or a meal after the round and express how much fun you had. If you appreciate her, she'll appreciate you. Good luck, young blood.

Just remember that she already agreed to go on this date with you, so thats a step in the right direction. As others have said, dont worry about your golf game that day and DO NOT offer advice unless she asks you for it. Compliment her on her good shots, but dont be fake and say something was good when it wasnt, she will be able to tell when you are serious. Keep the mood light and as others have said make sure you look like you belong and be as courteous to the staff as possible. If you see the dad, thank him for allowing you to go to his club.
