Will Golf Galaxy carry the Adipure shoes?

AP2 712

Recommended Posts

I called 2 Golf Galaxy's within the past week and asked if they would be carrying the Adipure shoes. Not too surprised that they had no idea what I was talking about, never heard of the shoe before. I told them it was the update of the Tour 360 LTD, still no spark created. Does anyone have any info on this?

I bought a pair of 360 4.0's from them but I would like to compare the Adipure's before I pass their 30 day return policy.

Will golf galaxy carry anything other than the usual crappy slazenger stuff? Will they carry any of the new nike method line? Will golf galaxy carry anything that the golfsmith down the road doesn't? The answer is no if you go to the one where I live. Shame, I have purchased a lot of stuff from GG in the past but frankly I would rather go elsewhere and find stuff online for a much lower price. Thanks Dick's Sporting goods!

Huh, my GG blows the Dick's near me out of the water... They're getting the new stuff in: had the Cobra S2 drivers in last week, for example.

I went by Dick's for a change - they were still selling FT-5s...

They both lack! Although I will say that the GG about an hour away from me is much better than the GG 15 minutes from me.

The adidas adipure have the highest retail value of all the new line of adidas golf shoes. Golf Galaxy markets its products towards the average consumer. Shoes are too expensive for the average consumer.

Bingo!

So explain them carrying the 360 LTD's or the Air Zoom TW's? Bingo einstein.gif

There are only so many customers that are going to purchase shoes at the high end. Many of them; however, are on boards like these, so our community is slightly top heavy. Of those consumers that shop at the 90 GG stores across the county only a small percentage will buy these shoes at full price. In this economy inventories are pared down. As a buyer would you not purchase Footjoy? It is still the number 1 selling line of shoes at retail. So you have the Icon at $220. TW is one of the few PGA pros that drive sales directly to Nike footwear and apparel, and I am sure they made their order prior to November of 2009, so the Zoom TW is in at $230. It appears that Adidas got the short end, but as the #3 or perhaps #2 line, that can happen. Adidas has top end shoes in the Tour 360 4.0 $180 and the new Powerband 3.0 at $140. Perhaps the $250 price range is a little too steep versus the FJ/Nike offerings. To effectively carry a broader range of styles and sizes I am guessing that the buyers choose to fill in at the middle level where more shoes are purchased, and omit the adipures.

It is not set in stone that they will never carry them either. If the model is selling well, you can be assured that account managers at adidas will contact the buyers at GG to persuade them to alter their stock. But there are budgets for each vendor that are dependent on turn and margin. You as a consumer can ask the store to special order a pair or if enough customers ask for the adipures they would be stupid not to stock the shoe.

That is how I see it, I guess you may see it differently. Retail is a fickle, guessing game. Consumers speak, it is up to a good retailer to listen.

If you are speaking from an educated perspective on this topic (ie. you have a friend who works at GG and knows why this product won't be sold at GG or maybe you even work there) then say so. And if you did and I missed it, well then I am sorry. Otherwise don't get offended when your response gets called speculation ESPECIALLY when you say "that's how you see it".

When I created this post, I didn't ask hey let's discuss or speculate why we think GG won't be carrying these shoes. But thanks for trying to figure this out.good.gif

GG or should I say Dicks decides which store gets the premium items. They track the purchase patterns and stores who are located in regions with higher household incomes will have a tendency to have the more expensive items. An example would be certain stores no longer carrying the Ecco shoe lines, Tommy Bahama clothing line, tiger woods signature collection, the adipure line, etc. because it would be wasted retail space for the items that would sit there and would only move when they are deeply discounted at the end of the season. It also has to do with wall and shelf space that the companies purchase to show case their product, i.e. Ping and Taylormade shell out beacoup dollars to have their displays at the front of the store. Ask a manager or a rep at GG to see if they can put in a special order for the item you want, more than likely it will be available to order if you so desire.

You can special order the shoes if the store near you doesn't stock them.

You are correct, it was already covered, but not viewed as an acceptable solution for the OP. Without holding them in his hands, it was merely speculation.

His local store now has them so he is now happier than a pig in .

This is pretty funny...... The topic seems pretty cut and dry but maybe there are multiple meanings to the question of Will GG CARRY the Adipure shoes. I don't know.
Considering this was NEVER an option that was offered to my by the multiple sales associates that I had asked about the shoes, yes it's pretty fair for me to call what was said (ABOUT GOLF GALAXY CARRYING THE SHOES) speculation. The GG employees didn't even know what I was talking about when I had mentioned the shoes to them. I do not know what size I would be, pardon me for wanting to try something on before I start to ship golf shoes back and forth to find the proper size.
