Medicus or Swing Setter

I thinking about getting a Medicus or a Swing Setter. Does anybody have one of these and if so, what is your take on these two training aids?

honestly, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but your money would be better spent paying for a lesson with a local pro

my step dad has a medicus 5 iron that I swing every now and then. I've really noticed from about a year ago to yesterday how much better I can swing that thing without breaking the shaft. He has it set for breaking very easily so you have to be really on plane to get it though. I like it. It provides a feedback that I can't get anywhere else. It also helps with tempo.

Pro lessons are great and highly advised, but you can swing a medicus in your living room on a rainy day.

I received a Medicus Driver as a gift. Worst gift I have ever got. I would have taken a sleeve of Top Rocks instead. I tried it for a week. If there was anything that really screwed up my plane angle, this was it. Took me a lesson and a month to get rid of the "handsiness" I had developed.

Not kissing butt....but the Path Pro Swing trainer looks a heckuva lot more useful and won't cause you to develope a bad habit when you're trying to correct them.

Second on the path pro. Awesome device!

I have a Medicus Dual Hinge and find it very difficult to use. It is quite heavy, and balanced differently than a normal club due to the hinge.

Unless you have an unbelievably smooth tempo, forget about hitting balls with it.

I'm currently taking lessons, but my problem is that I'm coming to much to the inside on my back swing and I can't stop it.

What are you working on? They are to very difffernt training aids. I have to say that the medicus is one of my least favorite traing though.

Actually I thought that the medicus was a very good training aid for muscle memory. It might have been just for me though.

I'm working on getting my club on plane. My club also comes to much on the inside and I don't get the right amount of hing.

For what it's worth......I was at AthletiCo in Oak Brook, IL yesterday and they had a Futures Tour player who had the same problem. Actually, getting stuck or trapped is a better players problem. Anyhow, they use the Path Pro for EVERY swing evaluation and correction session and the immediate results in getting her arms, hands and clubhead on plane and out in front of her were amazing. They were documented on their in-house high speed camera system and analyzed using their V1. Nothing short of immediate and dramatic.

Sorry for the commercial but the damn thing works unlike anything else you've ever seen.

I've seen a couple of mentions of "AthletiCo"... is this a golf specific gym?

 

As a Chicago resident and Golf junkie this sounds like something I need to look into.

 

Your "Path Pro" product looks very interesting... and could go a long way towards correcting my two biggest swing faults ( overswinging, primary spine angle)... do you have a B&M store or is shipping the only option?

 

 

Your product looks destined for success... particularly when compared to the "inside approach" and it's limited functionality. Good luck.
