New Belt Buckle Company, anyone know anything?

Recommended Posts

I was at colonial today and I saw Nationwide Tour Player Bobby Gates wearing a sweet belt buckle. He reffered me to Identitybelts.com Has anyone heard or seen anything related to this company? THERE STUFF LOOKS SWEET! Apparently their stuff is going to be around 150 even with a belt. WAY BETTER THAN 59 belts. I ordered one from 59 it was 300 bucks...what a waste.....Anyway, plz let me know if anyone has any info

You determined that it was a waste to spend $300 on a belt AFTER you spent $300 on a belt? (I don't care who makes the belt or what it's made of -- I can help you with this determination BEFORE you spend $300 on a belt.)

ok so I go an update from the company.... The buckles are going to start for around 150.. you get a belt 2 insert colors and the buckle. Once you have the essential starter package.. you can purchase additional inserts for 20 dollars and additional models for around 50. Everything is made from stainless steel the same way a scotty cameron putter is made. Im telling you the buckle I saw in person blew me away. I spent 120 a few times on J lindeberg belts... only for them to break. Our college golf team is ordering some and they offer a flat price for custom orders. A friend of mine is a caddy on tour and he was telling me that guys are going crazy over these things cause you can match your belts each day to what ever you wearing just like you would golf shoes. And the cool thing is one belt has millions of combinations. Idk about you guys but I play golf every day and 85 % of my closet is golf clothing. One belt can eliminate the hundreds of dollars I have spent on all the nike adidas and other bs belts I have. I wish I thought of that Idea

the funny thing to me is not that the belt costs $150(this is expensive but nothing outrageous) but rather the insert cost $20?? This is the ridiculous priced feature imo...It is 3" x 3" at the most and probably make out of plastic

I'd rather pay $150 for a belt than $20 for a piece of small plasticblack%20eye.gif

Okay, So I got more info...they offer flat rate custom orders, which is really rare. The prices are 200 for a pre designed model and 250 for a custom model with the help of a designer. If you want to purchase more than one custom one, then the price drops to the normal 150 range. The inserts are 20 dollars because they are powdercoated, or anadized. Both are options. I saw a prototype for our team today, and it blew my mind. Also they offer free stamping on the back with any order. You have the option to get engravings done but they cost extra, and imo the stamping adds a personal touch. Something I didnt know is that once you purchase the essentials, you can completely interchange all parts of the buckle. So once you have the back plate you never have to purchase it again. That essentially alleviates the high cost issues. So you can buy another belt model for around 50 and inserts for 20. Considering everyone on here pays between 20-50 for golfballs they will eventually lose, buying more inserts shouldnt be that big of a deal. Afterall, if they were plastic or painted then it would be expensive. Powdercoat is durable and will last a long time. Also its funny, the two guys who own the company are both 21, and they both play college golf. Thats how the stuff is going to the tour so quick.... LUCKY!@@@@@ Anyway Im excited, my own buckle should be here next week. So ill keep you guys posted.... At least the ones who enjoy nice things, im tired of hearing all the input from the 43 handicappers, and the guys who criticize all the people on here, when they dont know jack about golf. :)

I went to my local leather smith (aka shoe repair shop) and he custom hand made me 2 belt straps for $90 total. The belts were made of 3 pieces of leather, unlike most belts which are 2 pieces of leather (and card board in between).

Can't beat that deal.

I think if you got the scratch to pick up $300 belts, go for it. I do not but still want quality product for a reasonable price. After some research I picked up 3 belt straps from belts.com for $20 a piece (white, brown, black) croc prints. Very good quality for the price. Then I found a guy on the bay whose store name is ironartcanada, his name is Robert Aucoin and he hand makes some incredible belt buckles and sells them for about $35 a piece. Easily comparable to some of the $250 buckles I have held in hand. All in all, 3 straps, 2 buckles for under a $150 I was quite pleased. Some pics

59 is top notch stuff and guys on the tour aren't paying for it :)
If you want to be like Rickie, then you'll pop for the Patriot and not think twice.
Personally, I find big buckles make you look like you are on your way to a Urban In-door bull riding contest. Toss some a**-less chaps in and you have a VERY Nice (Borat Voice) outfit!

Absolutely no question HOF straps and Bettinardi buckles are the best in the business, incredibly high quality stuff.
