As a huge fan of Titleist, I can honestly say go with the MX300's, I hit them the other day and was ready to trade my AP1's in and get them, What a great set of irons,They have a perfect balance to appeal to alot of different players.

I've not hit the 2010 AP2's, but I can tell you the MX-300's are a great set of irons.

I've played around with some for a couple weeks now. Extremely forgiving, yet very workable. I know that sounds crazy, but it's the truth for my swing.

I've got a 5-PW set in great shape that I may keep around as a back-up to my new Scratch Ar-1's.

I just think the Scratch Irons make me a better player because I have to focus more when I play them. The MX-300's are probably some of the best Mizzy irons I've ever hit due to their playability/forgiveness combination.

Mizuno really hit a homerun with this set IMO and others are saying the same thing.

The MX300 leans a bit more toward the GI than does the AP2 - slightly more offset (about 0.02" per club), a little thicker topline, and a slightly wider sole. I have tried both the mx 300 and the ap2. The ap2 had only the px shaft which just doesn't seem to fit my swing so I never warmed up to them. My local golf shop has the Mizuno Optimizer and that's a pretty nice fitting tool. Ended up with the 300's with rifle 5.0. So far they're everything I was looking for - good trajectory and enough workabilty for me. Fwiw, I was playing mp60's with softstepped dgs300 and hc is 5. You really can't go wrong with either choice, but I do think the shaft selection is critical.

I am.

Happen to agree that the PC's are well kept secret. i bought AP1, AP2 and J36 PC 6-irons, all with the same shaft, and hit them for a month before it became apparent that the PC's felt more solid, were easier to hit, and went a bit farther.

The MX-300's are a really fine iron as well, and I have hit the 6-iron inside. The blade is a bit longer than my PC, and perhaps a bit more forgiving. But, the Mizzy doesn't feel as solid as my PC.

this will be my second year with the PC's and I'm not looking to switch any time soon.

MX300's but not by a landslide...

I have been looking for new irons since the fall and have the MX300's, AP2 710's, I15/G15 combo, MP58/MP68 combo and for kicks and giggles the Callaway Protos combo. I always keep my J36 combo set in the back up bag. I will preface my comments with the fact that I have NOT played these on grass...only on the mats since I live where winter has made the decision to hang around forever this year!!!!!!

MX300's and AP2 710's both have DG SL X100's in them after trying my normal favourite KBS Tours...the DG's kept the flight down. Mizuno's had very, very good feel which is not to say the AP2's were not a very close second...Ping's just felt different and I could not get used to the feel...unlike many others I like the looks of the I15 & G15's.

In terms of forgiveness I am not sure you can go wrong with either the AP2 710's or Mizuno's. So far the Mizuno's are leading here as I seem to miss hit right a bit less (probably the result of a tad more offset). I have to say the real surprise for me has been both the Protos and MP68's...in many range sessions I have to say they have performed very well and I have suddenly figured out how to draw the ball more consistently (I normally play a fade) which has helped with the AP2's and MX300's...

As soon as I can get onto some grass I will have a better idea of what I am going to game this summer...right now the MX300's are the leading contenders!

What did you like about the mx 300 over the i15?
[/quote]

It was a hard call, I was leaning toward the i15's, but hitting the two side by side I have a better ball flight with the 300's. IMHO you can't go wrong with the AP2, MX-300, or the i15. It just comes down to minor differences in what you like in picking between the 3. I have decided to go with the i15 driver.

Another vote for MX-300's. They are forgiving without being a shovel, have a little offset but are not distracting and have an excellent soft, solid feel. The AP2 710's are gorgeous but I need a little more forgiveness. Also, the Mizuno's just feel better when flushed.

Am I the only one who thinks the MX300s are ugly as sin?

The APs are Just as forgiving IMO.

The badges are just stickers and easy to remove. I do think the short irons are too big though....

Id go with the ap2, far superoir club imo, u wont see any mx 300's on tour, i know that!!!

... because everyone on this forum is a tour player rolleyes.gif

Seriously, that would be one of the last things that factor into my decision on what to buy.

Funny, I think the AP2's are ugly as sin. Once you remove the badges on the MX-300's they look great!

I tested both of these extensively, and the MX-300 are superior in every category....IMO.

+1. Why would what tour player carries even matter. Ye Yang has X flex Honma shafts in his fairway woods - does that mean we should?:fool:

do the mx-300's hit the balls straight up in the air like the ap2's or is the flight flatter?

This one gets me every time...

I would choose whichever you hit better, I personally would rather play the AP2.

I quite agree with you!Thos MX-300's are a real sore for the eyes. On the other hand they are definitely more forgiving than AP2's. These would probably be in the same league as the MP-52's ,forgiveness wise.I hit the MP52's into the nets with the NS Pro 95 shaft.Really solid iron ,and not too bad to look at...

im not sure what you mean. i don't have the chance to try the mx300 because no shop around here carries them. i want to like the ap2 because they are super easy to hit but they just go too high. im simply wandering what the flight is like on the mx300 compared to the ap2.

I actually like the look of the MX300's as well as the AP2's...

I haven't been able to play either off grass so I wouldn't argue the case for the MX300's being more forgiving as they are very similiar to the AP2's but I do like the feel of the MX300's more on well struck shots...
