Mesquite Golf Trip-Dinning Suggestions?

Going to Mesquite this year for annual summer golf trip. 16 guys, 4 rounds. Courses and lodging locked in. Need a recommendation for a group dinner. Looking for a nice dinning experience (i.e. great food, upscale) that is not super expensive. Thanks.

There's a Japanese steakhouse in town that I've heard is good. It's about as "upscale" as you're gonna get in Mesquite. A bunch of the folks from our group went last year and really liked it.

Without a doubt, call chef Charlie at Wolf Creek. Best chef in town and they will treat your group right. Our group from St. Louis went to Mesquite for 8 years in a row and Charlie always provided dinner for our last night there. They basically shut down the joint for our group of 20. I wish we had gone back there this year as I miss his cooking. He was going to open his own restaurant there until the ecconomy started to fall off.

The best meal he's made for us was a stuffed filet with crab meat and asparagus topping and the chocolate volcano deseart.

Tell him that Matt Weiss from St. Louis sent you and he will treat you right. Matt organizes all of our trips and Charlie and he got prertty tight.

Most of the other choices in town are just average at best. I heard that the Oasis casino and hotel are closed so that leaves Casa Blanca for the only other upscale place and it's very pricey and not that great.

Was Mesquite worth the trip? I live in St. Louis and I'm planning a bachelor party for late August early September and Mesquite has been kicked around. It's a little too far for a long weekend but if it's worth it it would be considered. Vegas has officially been ruled out before anybody suggests it. Or any other idea's for a long weekend from St. Louis would also be appreciated

Gregory's in the Eureka was pretty good. I had a good steak there. I do miss Charmains in the Oasis.

I went 3 years ago. I highly recommend it. Wolf Creek is a must, be prepared for slow rounds out there but all in all great trip.

I've been there 8 times and would go back in a heart beat! Great value and everything is very close by. Well worth the trip!

Late August should have highs of 110°!
