Wow, great clubs. Living in Maine, I have lots to time to think about what the bag's going to look like come spring. This winter I pulled the trigger on some X-protos. I couldn't be happier. I'm a 5 handicap, who's been playing Mizuno mp60's for the past several years, and went in to get fit a little over a month ago. I was thinking more towards the MP68's or 58's (I loved my 60's) or AP2's, but was willing to go in any direction, especially thinking that I should get more forgiving clubs. Anyhow, I'm a big WRX reader, not as much a poster, and from all the reviews thought I'd give the Callys a chance (I've never had a Callaway club in 25 years of playing). Butter...it was a done deal, they felt awesome, looked gorgeous, the ball flight was great, certainly forgiving enough and I could 'feel' my shots more than any other club I hit. I've been hitting them at an outdoor range with heated bays, but got to take them out on a course yesterday, yep, one opened up here in Maine - it was in the high 50's, and we had a blast. Only had time for 9, our tee time was late, they had a frost delay and I think they snuck more in, but shot 35. Is it a sign of things to come or false hope where everything could go downhill from here? I don't care...the X-Protos are fantastic. I probably wouldn't have considered them were it not for this site. Thank you GolfWRX.

Congrats on the new irons and the great opening 9 :clapping: . I'm hoping that I'll be able to knock a ball around somewhere other than a range in the next week or two myself (knocking on wood with fingers crossed).

I managed to hit these irons but only off mats so the feel wasn't all it could be however they were magic, I dont know what it was but man I hit these things so well, It didn't even feel like I was hitting off mats (I think the sole grind had something to do with that) but what astounded me the most was that a was hitting a 6 iron with project x6.5 and it was launching like an 8 iron?!?!? I dont know, all I do know is if I had the 12 999 Rand (1765.70 $) I would've got them...

I too due to this site have picked up a set!! only hit 5 balls with 7-iron but me likey!!! Lucked into a set with nippons which fit me well....Playing with them this week so a more detailed review coming...

I really do not understand Callaway's marketing department. I think they have a remarkably well designed iron in the Prototypes, but its almost like they dont want anybody to know about them or really want to sell them. Go figure
