Glasses/Sunglasses?

What will actually help?

I'm 54 and wear a pair of good prescription, polarized sunglasses to play in. Although they do a very good job in the sun and low light, I question their helpfulness in reading greens.
Some say that polarized lenses can distort green readings. Is this true?

Also, what is the best color of lens? Years ago, I used to wear contacts and wore those orangey type lenses that made everything crystal clear. So is the color of lense important? What about brands; Maui Jim's, Oakley...

So, I am interested in advice from golfers that have really seen a difference in their ability to see better when playing. I possibly could go back to wearing contacts if their is a non-prescription brand that is good; but I would prefer prescription.

Any advice?

well I wear a oakleys mainly but stay away from polarized due to depth perception with them. I mainly wear a pair of Half Jacket XlJ's with the golf Rose lense. The rose lense is great at making the green of the course really light up. I live in Az and when its really bright I have a pair of Oakley Radars in dark black tent to really cut down brightness.

i have a pair of oakley radar's being made right now with prescription inserts in the ice iridium lense. i cant do the rose or light colored lenses so i dont know about those, but out of all the darker lenses i tried when i was at the oakley corporate office, the ice iridium was best for me. will see how they do at the course when they come back next week.
