Scotty experts needed! Value question

Scotty pro platinum mil-spec newport. Saw this on a local craigslist ad today.. Guy says he needs to pay a bill. He's asking 100 OBO, but I want to make sure it's a good deal. Non original grip. Also, I've never seen blue dots on the face like that before. Any ideas?

Funny thing about the Mid-Slants and Mil-Specs... They don't seem to bring a high price in resale, yet everyone has owned, or still owns one. I have a Mid slant myself, lol. I think they're a victim of their own success, in a way.

They're great little putters, and for a C note you can't get hurt. Heck, if you fall in love with it you can even have it refinished/customized and have yourself a new putter (I did).

Offer him $75 and see if he bites. Tell him that due to the quality of the pictures and non-original grip that's all you're prepared to offer. Never hurts to offer less.

It is a good deal at $100, why low-ball a guy looking to move a quality putter?
I recognize it is popular to dicker just a bit, but IMHO, it is always best to pay the asking price when you know it is a good deal.
Just my opinion, please take it as such.

I got my Mil-Spec for $15(priced wrong, but they said it was their error and they'd have to sell it to me at that instead of the $75 it was supposed to be). That's why I said to offer $75. I've seen the same store I got mine at have them for $65 and $75 in about this condition(from what I can tell from the pictures). They price them based on condition and being all original. When they're not original, they drop the price, that's why I said to offer $75. At $100, it is a fair price still, but I don't know that I'd pay that based on those pictures and it not being original.

I've never seen a Mil-Spec going for $75,e ven if terrible condition.

The PGA TSS locally, when they have one in, are always below $100. Like I said, they mispriced mine, but that's what I paid for it.

Then they are giving them away because that is certainly not the going rate natinally. Matter of fact, Mil-SPecs are among the most highly sought after of the older Camerons.

Take the guy at his word that he's hurting for the money, pay him the $100, and say "I hope this helps". Be a gentleman about it, and you'll get way better putter-karma.
