Help! Pulled Muscle...

Ok, just got back from the course. Didnt even finish hole 1. My tee shot I forced through so I could start playing, but didnt stretch good enough... I think I pulled the muscle that runs on the left side of the spine (middle of the back, the one that you can see if you lift your shirt up). The real problem here is that now I cannot hit the ball to save my life- shanking everything, and I have 2 tournaments this week (Tuesday and Friday). How can I get this healed asap? Just took some Ibuprofen...

You will find out that with pulled muscles, there is no speedy process to heal them. You will have to power through it and have some mind over matter type situations. Best of luck to you.

Don't worry about the tournaments, make sure this is not a chronic problem, heal it up. I can tell you that if you don't it will become a nagging issue for a long time and will affect your swing mechanics.

i did the exact thing today. didnt finish the first hole though. got it so bad i couldnt get in my posture. the problem is, i sound 50, but im 16. does anyone have stretches for this? all im doing is ice ice ice

Stretch it out and Deep Cold and A535. About the only thing you can do with a pulled muscle.

I'm 16 too.... :S

i have some bad back problems also, and traveling and playing college golf tournaments has been a really tough thing to overcome. If you do end up playing, icey hot patches before your round and during. I know its bad but, i took a lot of Ibuprofen. The only thing i can suggest is rest. That helps me too. Also a regular visit to the chiropractor helps me. Alot of people dont believe in them but they help me. Good luck and hopefully your back strains cease.
