I've had a Mizuno Betti BC7 and Cleveland Classics 2. I still have the BC7 in the putter well of my bag and sold the cleveland some time back.

sounds good. how would you rate the softness of the mizzy? White hot XG soft? or what?

I just made this decision today. Here's what stood out for me:

a. The CCs are a great deal @ $69, and the sound and consistent feel off the face were good.
b. The sound and feel of the Betti BC fit face was perfect for me. Still had the consistent, solid feel of the all Stainless CC, but a softer sound. I assume that's the difference in metal used.
c. The BC2 offered me a plumbers neck, but it had less toe hang than the CCs. I'd guess the cc4 was ~60*, the cc1 ~45*, and the BC2 ~20-25*.
d. The alignment mark of the bc2 is a small line on top of the blade only, which puts it closer to the height of the ball.
e. The BC2 actually felt heavier overall. With a 340 headweight, identical to the CCs, I assume it's the use of a heavier shaft.

If the BC2s weren't $99, I'd have purchased the CC1, or the NCX Ray Tau @ $99.

To me, it's a different kind of soft, more solid soft than squishy soft like the odyssey inserts. With the odysseys, I've never been able to get used to the insert since they're softer than the weight of the head indicates (which to me always meant I felt like I had to kill it to get to the hole). I have never tried any of their firmer tour inserts.

The betti, to me, has a nearly perfect ratio. Contact feels solid, but the ball doesn't spring off the face, and the weight doesn't throw me off. To me, it's a testament to how well this guy knows metal and balance. If I could pick one putter to have custom made, I would pick a tour bb2 with the new tour fit face.

I guess if I had to equate the betti to an insert putter, the closest thing would be the macgregor grace DCT series, kind of his first attempt at what ended up being HSM (which I have not tried). I had the Palma Ceia model for a spell, and while I still thought the head/softness ratio was a bit off, it was much closer than any insert I've ever used.

I concur with what higherground said. The Betti bc fit face sounds and feels softer than the CC face, but not in a way that affected the distance of the putt.
When I was demoing the ncx ray putter, it was also soft feeling, but putts didn't come off as well as the betti.
The CC was consistent in this regard as well, but not as smooth feeling the as the bc2.

Game the Mizzy-Betti C3 since 3 years and I´m a putter Ho´ - but i sold all the scottys. This ist the best putter i´ve ever owened. For me this putter feels better than the orig. Betti´s and i like the black sightline

So then would the BC1 or the BC2 have more toe hang? And does your BC2, in your eyes, inspire confidence?

Thats good to hear, because I HATE the feel of my Yes callie and I'm looking for a "softish" feel. And I cant seem to get good distance control put of the Yes and it hits the topline wayy too many times. Thanks
