Whats the best golf course you've played golf on

I live in Iowa so the great golf courses and very limited. The best course I have played in my mind is Spirit Hollow. It is 7200 yards from the tips. What are the best golf course you've golfed on? Where is it located? How long of a course is it? ETC.

Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, IL. Ultraprivate course, I got on because I used to caddie there and you get to play there if you caddie three times in a week. Only about 6800 from the tips, but you almost have to hack out to the side with a wedge if you miss the fairway by 5-10 yards, a lot of fescue. It's also where they had the Walker Cup last year, and one of the USGA founding courses.

Royal Melbourne Golf Club (West Course)- President's Cup Course (Although that is a combination of both the East and West course and is not the same as the Composite Course for normal tournaments.)

Colbert Hills in Manhattan, KS. Great course to seek out if in the Kansas City area amazing conditions and a tough course.

Harbour Town Golf Links

Played the Ridge at Castle Pines last year, and played Arrowhead GC in Littleton this year. Have to say though that the Rivers in North Augusta, SC was amazing as far as fun and grooming :yahoo:

The best courses I have played are the Olympia Fields North Course several times, and Harbour Town Golf Links a few times. CJ when did you play Harbour Town?

Luana Hills Country Club Oahu Hawaii known locally as Jurrasic Park. Simply stunning 6595 yards from the tips with 19 holes. Beautiful!!

Hartfeld National or Glen Mills Golf Course. Eduardo Molinari has the course record there.

Probably Amana Colonies in northern ia. 6800/ rating 73.2 from the backs. Just a gorgeous course, like its carved out of the woods.

just kidding. I haven't played anything great or supurb yet. Best has to be Sea Trail Jones course. I'm going to play a Donald Ross designed course in Lake George, NY called The Sagamore with-in the month, so once I play there, that will be it.

TPC Sawgrass Valley course. I have played the Stadium and to me, it is not as good. VJ does most of his practice rounds on the Valley. Supurb conditions and a great test.

I've played plenty of overrated courses (Quail Hollow) but these are the ones that really stand out to me. I'm also lucky enough to be a member at two of them, so it's nice to be able to play a great course often.

In terms of ranking, Cypress Point, St. Andrews, Bethpage Black, Olympic, San Francisco, St. Andrew's Old. But the best course hands down I have played is the Loch Lomond Golf Club (7100, 75.1/145; Luss, Scotland), home of the Barclay's Scottish Open...way underrated IMO. A lot of other great ones: Turnberry Ailsa, Prestwick, Kingsbarns (my fav links course), Troon North, Grayhawk Raptor, Cabo del Sol Ocean, Mayacama (also very underrated), Montreux (home of the Reno Tahoe Open), Punta Mita (hole 3B may be the tightest hole in the world). I have been very very fortunate to play all of these courses.

I played the General course at PGA east in West Palm, during the late 80's where unfortunately I hacked it up. I just missed Greg Norman playing as he was walking off the 18th.

The Club at Olde Stone in Alvaton, Kentucky (AJGA Houchens Industries Junior Open).

By far the best and toughest course I have ever played. (I have played Sawgrass, Pinehurst #2, and a few other courses in the top 100 in the world).

Old North State Club in Uwharrie Point, NC. 7102 from the Black. Host of the ACC mens championship and North Carolina Am. I played Pinehurst #2 the next day and i thought ONS was much better. 3 Best finishing holes in NC.

Congressional which is a few minutes from my house, I also played a lot of golf in Scottsdale, I especially enjoyed a round at TPC Scottsdale a little before the tournament started and also Troon North which is exceptional.

Eagles Glenn in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It's a breathtaking links course. It was so much fun to play, and it was so beautiful. They have 5 tees; we played the middle (me and my dad) which was around 6200-6300. The tips are 6900 and the next are around 6500 yards. Best course I've ever played. If I go back there this year, I'm playing the tips though (to get the full humbling experience lol)

I live in the UK and the best course ive played is 'the old course' @ St andrews. Ive recently come back from Portugal, excellent weather and excellent golf the best course over there is Villa mora south course, it is a european tour championship course, AWSOME
