Played both for about 10 rounds combined before my tennis elbow decided to sideline me for a month of so. I love the Z star, really has nice greenside control and putts well. I hit good distance drives with it as well but not as long as the Bridgestone. The Bridgestone, for me, just does exactly what I want a ball to do; low spin, longer carry and good roll off driver. Control with irons and ability to go at pins knowing that the ball won't take a bounce and release 20 feet. Off the putter is was great as well.

Driver ; Bridgestone, hands down

FW, Hyb, Irons; Bridgestone

100 yards an in, greenside control, putting; Srixon, by far

Judgement; Winner is Srixon Zstar. It's not far behind the Bridgestone in the long club department and definitely has it beat with the scoring clubs.

I've played both. The Z-Star feels the same as a Titleist ProV1. Great spin, maybe too much on soft greens. Compression feels hard for my swing (7 iron 150-160yds, 2.4 index).

The Bridgestone RXS is a lower compression ball for slightly slower swing speeds. It has a little less spin, but it will still back up and never feels hard. It's great with irons because the lower compression really makes it lively and about half a club longer than the Z-Star. The RXS is also a good choice in cold weather because of the lower compression. Driver distance is about the same for me, the RXS is longer than the old RX. Durability of the RXS is fantastic, I've played them 36 holes several times.

Best way is to try a sleeve of each. Nobody here has your exact set of characteristics and needs.

I've played both, and it's Z-Star for me. No knock on the RX-S, it does spin more than the RX, which I loved the feel of but hated the roll out. Z Star is negligably shorter with the driver, around equal on irons, and just flat outperforms the RX-S 100 and in. Plus it comes in that cool yellow!!

I have played the ZStar, the 08 RX and the 10 RX all quite a bit.

I swing the driver around 90 mph so I should fit the target market for the RX balls.

But off the driver I did not notice any diff between the RX's and the Z Star. Both are about as long as any ball I have hit.

And as stated above the ZStar performs much better around the greens. The RX's roll out a bit too much for my liking even on a full wedge shot from 100 yards.

I am going to stick to the ZStars. And they are usually cheaper than the RX's.

Havent tried the RXS ball though.

Srixon Z-Star.......just bought a sleeve, and played two rounds. This ball performed much like a Pro-V1 for me. Green side performance wasn't as "checky" as a Pro-V1, but wedge approaches spun as much...toooo much. This ball will perform great on dry, windy days. Probably better than a Pro-V1, but don't quote me on that cause there's really not much of a difference......for me at least.

Haven't hit any Bridgestones, sorry.

I have been playing the older RX and Pro V1X for two years, but I bought a dozen Z-Star Tour Yellow.

Yesterday I played the Rx on the front nine and the Z-Star on the back nine. I did not notice any real difference in the distance off the driver. Both balls do check up when hit with a wedge as an approach shot. I noticed the RX would roll out sometimes to about 5 feet. The Z-Star would drop and stop.

Personally I like the RX all around. It has great feel off the driver, fairway woods and irons. The only real advantage for my game with the Z-Star is the stopping power on the green and of course the yellow ball is easy to see.

Both balls perform as the manufacturer states. I can see playing either ball, by just making slight adjustments to match the characteristics of each ball to my game.

BTW, I have not played a ProV1X yet this year.

You are going to have to buy a sleeve of both to see what fits your game. All your going to do is get the bias Zstar users that probably never even played the RXS. Kinda like people who use Mac computers. The spin around the greens for the RXS is the about the same as a Pro V1. All you will notice between the Zstar and RXS is the Zstar will feel harder and the RXS will be way easier to hit with Fairway woods and long irons. Wedge spin between the two are very similar. A half wedge with the RXS has more than enough braking power to score with. The RXS with a 105mph club head speed feels like a super bounce ball off the face and Zstar is way firmer. On a launch monitor, I was consistantly longer with the RXS which spun 500-700rpm less then the Zstar.

***Just so people know, the RXS is a completly different ball then the current RX and the older RX***

I've played the Z Star quite a bit, and a box and a half of the RXS. Both are great balls, but I prefer the Z Star for the way it feels and reacts around the greens. But the RXS does spin much better around the greens than the old RX, and in most situations it's all you'd need, but I like the way the Zstar feels off the putter better.

RXS spins less off the driver for me, but I wasn't seeing more distance with it in the spring, I don't know that I've paid attention now that it's summer and the fairways are rolling.

Have been playing the Z Star for a long time, love it's short game performance and for my swing speed it's the best ball for me at this time , but I did the Bridgestone ball fitting thing and they gave some RXS to try, I judge my ball on how it performs 100yds. on in, the RXS did not spin enough, too much run out, the Z-Star is a better overall ball for me. Hope this helps.
