Pro-Am wednesday

Here are a few Equipment pic's from the Pro-Am at the Buick Open, a friend of mine took these for me while he was out there today.

First 4 are Scotty McCarron, using a mix of Ping and Callaway.

Srixon is Robert Allenby

FT-3 Nuetral is Lee Janzen

Nike Blades are John Cook

Nike Combo's are Carl Peterson

10.5 FT-3 and Hogan Irons are hank Kuehne

nice pics.....the pro combos look identical to retail but the blades definately look different. especially the sole and the muscle.

ps those x tours look f**ked! is this how badly they wear and chatter?

Those Nike blades of Cook's definitely have a different muscle shape and trailing edge grind from my retail Nike heads. The great Tiger's clubs, in another thread are like a different club entirely in respect of the muscle profile and the heel profile...

Some seriously beat up clubs out there on Tour... I feel better looking at my old battered MP14s now that I used for years... My Nikes are still shiny and pretty new-looking.

The I-404's are a squarer toe profile, forged, japan only updated version of the 302's. I think you may be thinking of the 403's. The new model 50something are on the japanese website. Kinda wish I hadn't gotten rid of my 302's...

correct me if i am wrong but the new japanese srixons are the I-505 and the u.s will be the I-506. but the I-302 are sweet and hard to beat....

Up until the US Open, Allenby played the 302's. Yes, the I-404's are a Japan only iron and the 506's should be coming out sometime in late Fall or sometime next year.

No tour player would play the I-403's simply because they are not a players club. too much offset and way too forgiving. They are a great club for mid to high handicappers though.

I'm a bit surprised to see the Srixon I-404s. I thought for sure the players would be playing the I-302s or perhaps the new proto blade (can't remember what it's called).

There is not a proto blade in the Srixon lineup. The only blade they have is the Pro-100. I do believe it was only released in Europe and Japan for retail sale.
