Precept Distance IQ 180

Comparable balls?
I've always loved the Pro V1 and x, but hate the price. Recently I picked up a couple doz. Precept Distance IQ 180s and was quite surprised at the performance. Nice soft feel, great distance and performed well around the greens. It certainly wasn't going to back off the green, but was controllable. I was wondering if anyone has tried this ball as well as the new Srixon Trispeed Tour and Srixon AD333? I'd love to hear how they compare.

I bought a couple dozen of these as well. I enjoy playing this ball, as they feel particularly good coming off the irons. I go between this ball and the Srixon Z Star. Excellent ball for the money.

Personally, I ddn't find the Treosoft to feel the same, even if it's a rebadged IQ180.

I've been a Distance IQ180 fan for a long time. Even though Bridgestone says the Treosoft is pretty much the same ball, wheter its psychological or not, I don't like the Treosoft at all. I play the Trispeed along with the IQ180 most rounds though I will jump up to the Nike Tour/Platinum when I want to play a tour-level ball. I have played the AD333 quite a lot as well; the Trispeed, not the AD333, compares most favorably to the IQ180. After that, the Titleist NXT Extreme would be the next best comparator, in my view. But, no matter how many balls I try, I keep coming back to the IQ180 (you can still get them from lostgolfballs.com).

How does the AD333 compare in terms of wedge spin? I was surprised at the IQ180's wedge spin -- certainly not like a Pro V1, but surprisingly decent. I'd also like to try the new DT Solo, which I read spins decently as well. BTW: I got mine at Steinmart $14.99/doz plus buy one get one 1/2 off.

These just happen to be the 2 types of balls I currently play. I stocked up big time on the IQ180s (about 20 dozen) when I found a great price and just did the same for the AD 333s (about 8 dozen). For me, distance and feel are very similar with these balls. The Precept maybe feels just a tad softer off the face. I think the Srixon stops on the green a little better than the IQ - albeit a very slight difference. Both feel great on chips and putts. Agreed that neither will spin too much around the green (which can be good or bad - depends).

Bottom line is that I love both balls - price wise how can you go wrong???? I got 4 dozen of the Precepts for the price of 1 dozen Pro Vs... and about 3.5 dozen of the Srixon's. Unless you are scratch or very close... I don't think it's worth it. Oh... and by the way - I am about a 10 hdcp. if that matters.....
