Most of the 8813s I've seen use a fluted shaft, which is a little firmer than the stepped shafts on the 8802. Both are flared tip.

The older 8813s from the 60s do have a warm place in the heart of some collectors, but I prefer the 8802 due to lack of siteline/markings.
