what is similar to the Bridgestone RX?

I did the Bridgestone fitting and found the RX launched higher, gave me lower spin, and added almost 10 yards to my drives. Do other companies make a similar product? Nothing wrong with the RX, just curious if anyone else has picked up on this niche for the less than 100 SS crowd.

For reference I did the fitting comparing the Callaway Tour IX to the RX. Launch angle was 3* higher and spin was @ 500 rpm less, but I can still stand to lose another 500 rpm at least. I tend to hit down a ball with most clubs, and I take chunks out of the covers on most "spin" balls so even this RX gets damaged pretty quickly.

BSG did a comparison a while ago on their old site and the TaylorMade Burner TP ball was almost identical to the RX330. Take their results how you want but since they don't sell "tour" only balls it's probably accurate.

I have tried those and they did seem to work pretty well. Hard to see that 10 yard increase all the time since my swing is far from perfect, but if I know the ball fits me I feel a little better about things. haha
Those are going for a good price too, which is exactly my reason for not playing the RX.

I never spent much time on the BSG forum. Had a hard time sorting through all the machismo and p!ssing contests. Guess I may have missed some good info though.

Yeah you definitely had to wade through all the BS to get to the relevant information but I just figured since they couldn't find a way to market "tour issue" golf balls there may be some truth to it.

The new site is a mere shell of the former site and has very low activity.

I've been going back and forth between the 330RX and the Gamer V2 for the past month or so. I definitely get 5 to 10 yards more with the RX over the V2 however I get 5 yard(maybe more) increase with my irons using the V2 so distance wise they work out about the same.

I putt much better with the V2 and shot best round(75) in about a year using the V2 last weekend.

I've got 3 sleeves left of the RX and really don't want to use them because I just score better with the V2

I've tested a lot of balls this season side by side with the B330RX - and the closest in performance is the Gamer V2. I get about the same driving distance from the V2 and RX, but, like the earlier post, the V2 is longer off irons. Once you make that adjustment, the V2 comes out on top. The V2 is cheaper (less than one half the price of the RX) and more durable than, too. I get very good spin on approach shots and chips with the V2 as well, better than any of the RX versions.

I didn't have any luck at all with that first Gamer, so I've steered clear of the V2 also. I found that first one pretty short (spun so much it would shoot up and cost me distance) and not very durable. Great spin, but I'm guessing that's why I lost iron distance and took chunks out of the cover with mid irons.

May have to try the new version though. For the price I guess it can't hurt.
