Jk... My buddy Joel up the road has them and has been a big fan. But honestly, I don't know how an iron can be any better than these

when your bags are pretty much set, theres only so much tweaking left to do.

I think i was hurting my game playing overly stiff shafts. (i know, first time thats been admitted on wrx)

So i went back to some stiffs, including throwing in some golden oldies.

really get along with the baffler at 16*, so figured why not grab a LTD 4/5 and play at 16* in the other bag..

ignore the tape, I have a few rogues tipped different amounts

    remember these oldies?

Im gonna rebuild an Adams 3446 here and maybe sleeve up some Matrix RUL shafts just for giggles.

played in some honest to goodness soup today. But it was 60* so I was trying.

IRT the MFS, I wont say they are the be all, end all but they are very good. VERY good. I def was playing over flex. I used the baffler off the tee on a few occassions and was piping them out there. As such, didnt get to use the driver to often but..

the local muni hole 4 par four has a pond carry of about 240-250 from the whites. Usually i lay up to the front which leaves me about 180 to the pin. Well for giggles I brought out the big stick and carried it about 270. Ive hit a few to that distance (oban purple on the one time i controlled it) but I honestly feel that I could repeat that.

My swing is straight trash now as I havent had the net up to keep me fluid. Be quite interested to see how this pairing feels in the spring.

probably going to grab another MFS 40 for the 3446.

I had an "orange crush" MFS shaft in a 910D3 and it was the straightest **** driver ever

but the head lost its pop and I got rid of it

was a shame, such a good combo - been chasing it ever since

    Russ,

    I love the pics ...

and great idea on the spring and winter bag, I like that.

question though: (especially as a Cleveland and possible a Srixon fan)

Obviously, from the pics you carry the Cobra woods but what is your take on what Srixon has to offer in the same department?

For instance, is it a matter of familiarity or is there something about Srixon Woods you don't like?

honestly, I haven't tried the srixon woods/hybrids so cannot comment on those. Ive just had good luck with cobra so no need to look elsewhere.

I just had to ask as a Cleveland fan ...

Yea, that's my thoughts exactly. If it isn't broken, why fix.

That's why am a bit hesitant to venture over to Srixon.

I am sure my thoughts might change over time but I am comfortable with what I've experienced with Cleveland thus far .

I was actually considering getting the TTs to use in a second bag maybe intermingle with the MTs. Who knows.

It is an ever evolving journey ...

thanks again for giving us a look-see in your process ...

i saw you PMd about those 588s. Im telling you.. that is such a good set but I would use those as the summer set. 588 MTs are the most underrated long irons out IMO.

again. I don't know if theyre good or not But if you are looking at Cleveland the 310 (classic and non) were VERY good drivers. Especially with the Kusala black. For fw you can try the FL line that still are in some of the pro bags.

but at the end of the day, play what works

Yea, I initially was gifted the TA7s from a buddy of mine to get started.

Honestly I didn't know what I really wanted. (although the CB/MB combo and TTs stood out)

A GolfSmith pro really persuaded me to try the MTs and the rest has been history.

You mentioned using the MTs as my summer irons.

And like I said early I like your idea for a Spring and Winter bag.

So, just to ensure I am understanding correctly.

Are you using more a forgiving iron or flex due to the winter conditions?

Is it more about these are my playing irons and these are my practice/swing/consistency clubs?

What are your thoughts and correct me if I am wrong in anyway?

Ps. definitely going to take a look at those Cleveland club suggestions as well. (310 and FL) Thanks for that nugget.

And heard some good things about the Z 545s and 565s if I didn't go the TT route. Let me know what you think.

I know Im really late to the Srixon 65 party

I recently demod them (multiple times) and I tell you what - I Love them

but i also tested them side by side my current set and they were identical ...... so I'm having a hard time justifying it right now

but lets talk more about those RTX3 wedges

what bounce did u get in each one and are they awesome?

I grabbed the medium (2 dot) but wish I would have went low (single dot) on the 56/60. For no other reason than to match my RTX 2.0s in the backup.

Heres my thoughts. I like them. I loved my 2.0s and these are even better. That mass movement to the center really helps. I don't have as many outliers as I do with the other sets ive tried. Basically the misses aren't as bad. Distance wise they are a bit shorter in my opinion (3-4 yards) but others have said they are longer.

    I have zero regrets

    Hey Russ,

I finally got a chance to get out on the course today.

Took your advice on the TL 310 and the FL 3W and lets just say I fell in love ...

These two will definitely see some steady action in the gaming bag.

    Thanks again ...

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
