Best ball for slower swing speeds around the greens.

Need something that still bites.

I love the ProV1. However it's not the longest off the tee, especially if I'm not having a great day. I have tried other golf balls for slower swingspeeds, such as the Noodle and even some lady balls. The B330 RXS is my favorite, but it still does not have the bite of premium balls for higher swing speeds like the ProV1 of Penta around the greens, which is the most opportunity for me to score.
My swingspeed is around 92 with a driver.

bridgestone fix. i seem to spin those better than the rx or the rxs and i do love those balls but i spin the fix better....

If ur looking for a tour ball i had a lot of sucess with the callaway tour i s and i only swing at 90 mph it was long and spun great around the greens...

I like the Tour i also, found one and played it for a few holes. I found Bridgestone E5+ had plenty of spin around the greens and was pretty straight with average length. I swing about 98 mph and could back them up about 3-4 feet on approach shots with 8i or less.

Try the 2010 Titleist SoLo or Srixon AD 333 both have good green side spin and are long and soft.

My swing speed is about 90 and I can not seem to find a ball that I can settle on. Been playing the NXT Tour and Gamer V2 and they are both just ok. I took could use some advice on a "better ball" for my swing speed. Thanks.

First off I firmly believe that having control around the green is much more important than a few extra yards off the tee. That being said I would stick with the ProV....however if you want to experiment you might consider the Bridgestone E5+ it still has a urethane cover and is much cheaper as well. I personally dont have a very high swing speed but have found that the ProV goes about as far as any ball off the tee, however I definatley pick up a few yards with the irons with the longer distance balls, probably because of the reduced spin.

If you aren't happy with the spin of the RXS then I would rule out any non-urethane ball. Here is a list of the urethane balls with overall compression (not core compression) under 100:

Bridgestone RX/RXS
Srixon ZStar
Titleist ProV1 (not sure about the new version for 2011)
Wilson FG Tour
Bridgestone e5+ (2010 e5 is over 100)

Compression data was never released for the Callaway is/z but you may want to give the i(s) a try as I have been hearing that it is Callaway's softest urethane ball to date.

I'm a fan of the Nike One Vapor Speed. I have a 100mph SS, but it's apparently for 80-105SS. Bites quite well around the greens, and is on sale around most stores.

While on vacation I went to a Bridgestone ball fitting. I have not played for several months but hit the ball fairly well. My swingspeed was 89 mph and they recommended the e5 ball. Played 18 with it and I must admit that I like it. Though I thought it went a little high, I was supprised on how much better it is over the NXT Tour. Soft, long and better spin around the green. Looking forward to spring so I can put it to a real test.

I play both the Z Star and the B330RXS. Both are for slower SS, long off the tee
and good greenside spin. I think the Z Star spins a little more than the RXS.
Also, the AD333 has pretty good greenside manners if you want a less
expensive, soft 2 piece ball.

Stick with the ProV's They are hard to beat round the greens and only a little shorter than most off the tee with the Driver. I have tried quite a few but find the ProV1 to be the best all round performer.

AD 333

Actually the NXT Tour is a much lower compression ball than the E5. The E5's urethane cover is the only this positive thing it has going for it, and that's primarily a benifit from lie's in the rough. . .

Like some other folks have posted... the AD333 and the original TF Gamer may be the best balls for the money ever produced.
