what course(s) to play and what will the weather be like?
My wife and I will be in the Littleton/Englewood area from Nov 11th-20th and I am looking to play a few rounds of golf, but I am not familiar with the area. I am tentatively planning on playing Fossil Trace, but would love some suggestions for additional options. I play to a 5 hcp and would love to meet up with some fellow WRX'Ers in the area for a round or two. I am also wondering what the weather is like this time of year....is it even feasible to bring my golf clubs to the Denver area in November? Any ideas and suggestions would be great.

Arrowhead, Red Hawk Ridge would be 2 of my first choices. Red Hawk was designed by the same guy as Fossil Trace and isn't as tricked up, he went overboard on several holes at Fossil Trace. Not sure how many leaves will be on the courses then, hope a local or 2 will chime in. November can be pretty nice in Colorado. Be sure to call the courses and check golfnow for good rates.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into both those courses, and also Golfnow is a great idea as well. Leaves do not bother me one bit as I live in Missouri and almost every course here is tree lined. Let me know if you would be interested in getting a couple rounds in when I get there.

I may be a little biased since I play them all the time but I would recomend Legacy Ridge and The Heritage at Westmoor both in Westminster 15-20 mins NW of Denver towards Boulder. Legacy is an Arthur Hill design course that hosts Colorado Open qualifier ever year, The Heritage Westmoor is a links style course that hosted a US Open local qualifier this year. Both courses are in good shape. Coupon available on their website golfwestminster.com.

Fox Hollow is a pretty nice course close to Littleton. Buffalo Run is right by DIA if you are flying in, Played there 3 weeks ago and their greens were the best I have seen them. If you want a nice affordable course, Denver City Park is a nice little track right in the middle of downtown next to the zoo and the museum. South of town another you could check out is The Ridge at Castle Pines.

Weather in Denver in November might be 70 and sunny or might have a foot of snow, it's a crap shoot this time of year.

Enjoy your trip out here!

Good suggestions for Heritage, Legacy Ridge, Fox Hollow (all about $45+), and Arrowhead. However, check out a map as Denver is a big town. I like Arrowhead as it has spectacular rock formations, touted as Denver's prettiest course by many periodicals. Fossil Trace had some quirky holes but was still fun. If you are down south The Ridge at Castle Pines is nice but pricey at ~$125. I like Bear Dance in Larkspur south of South Denver ~20 minutes also ~$125 ish. The weather may be a little cool at that time so wear layers, maybe an under armour, check the weather daily. Great deals on golfnow.com. You might look into Albuquerque for a future golf trip, I like at least 4-5 courses right in town and many more within an hour north.

I think I am leaning towards Fox Hollow, Arrowhead, and either Red Hawk Ridge or Fossil Trace. Which of the 3 nine holes should I play at Fox Hollow? I will probably get 3 rounds in at most so if you guys can break these down for me as to which of these 4 to play that would be great.

Definitely check out Omni Interlocken, they have 3 nine holes and gurantee its a challeging course to play. I just played Bear dance golf club a few weeks ago and for this time of the year, the course is very well maintence.

I have been watching the weather forecast for the littleton Co area and I must say I am a little bummed about the next 2 week forecast. I was hoping for some decent weather during my trip, and it doesn't look like I am going to get my wish. It looks like I may need to bring some cold weather gear if I am going to get any golf in.
