wondering which shaft works best
Hey guys,
I would like to know if anyone knows the differences in playing characteristics between the aldila NV, the Accra t60, and the Proforce V2. I currently play the nv in my G2 but have been thinking about switching to the accra or the v2. My swingspeed is 105 and i have a smooth tempo. Also, the nv cpm'd to a 6.1 at 45.75 inches. I was wondering if i am losing distance because the shaft is too stiff? Thanks guys.

I don't think the shaft is too stiff at all. There are a lot of factor need to be consider. I would recommend you to have a launch monitor session and find all those number. From those number you can tell what you did wrong.

Your Info is so limited here, No one can help you without those number.

The NV is has a stiffer tip and a higher kick point than the other two... leaving you with a lower ball flight.  The T60 will give you a higher launch angle and more carry... should fit great with your swing because it's smooth.  The V2 is supposed to be a great shaft... I've heard it be compared to the Accra SC models,  which is a step up from the Tour models.  I think either one would be a great shaft for you.

Thanks for the input. I am actually looking for somethign that will give me more roll. I carry the NV about 255-260, but only get about 10 or so yards of roll. Any suggestions?

At first glance, it sounds to me like the shaft might be too flexible. The launch monitor will give you all the information you need. You should be launching the ball somewhere between 12-14 degrees with spin between say 2500 and 3500 rpms. I fight the same problem with a high trajectory and little roll. I have found that playing a stiffer shaft reduces my spin, which flattens my trajectory and gives more roll. I am of the opinion, and I am sure some disagree, that shaft flex does little to affect distance unless the differences in flexes is pretty extreme. My swing speed is approx. 115, and I hit a Titleist 905s with a stiff Grafalloy blue shaft that FCM's at 8.1. My last driver was a 983 E with a NV65X that FCM'd at 7.3. I picked up 5-7 yards with the change, simply by lowering my spin rate about 800 rpm's. Hope that helps.

Bradkv, wondering what you thought of the NV65 vs the Blue? I have a swing speed roughly ~110 and was wondering what you thought of the feel of the 2 shafts. I felt the aldila felt a little "boardy" and was looking for another option in a 905s. I hit an accra sc65 and liked the feel, but lost the ball left w/ an aggressive move.

thanks in advance.
