no the guy at watts is clueless, you probably spin the x more because your ss isnt fast enough to compress the ball..thats why some guys hit a prov1 further then a prov1x...if u really want to test this out, hit full wedges with both balls and you'll see which ball is the "high" spin version
My ss is between 115 and 124 mph..
And I did hit wedges with both. The X still spun more.
I already knew the thing about compression.. Believe me. I compress the living hell out of the ball.
Thanks though.

The X is built for faster swing speeds. The regular will spin less at lower speeds and the X is built for faster speeds to work it more. It's opposite of the ProVs....
You didn't tell me anything I don't already know...
My question is, WHY IS THIS NOT HOLDING TRUE FOR ME?!?
It holds true with me for every other ball. ProV1 spinning more than ProV1x. Nike One Tour spinning more than Nike One Tour D.
My swing speed is the furthest thing from slow. I've actually picked up speed since switching to the I15. It's averaging right at 119 now.

The Z Star is BUILT to spin less. It spins less for that reason. The Z Star X is built to be able to be spun more. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know? Then you know the answer to your own question...design.

Then why is the X advertised as spinning less?

I've never seen it advertised as "spinning less". I've seen it advertised as "optimized for high swing speeds".

OK, I'll play along. What if the Z Star is compressed/deformed too much by your mighty lash? So, instead of spinning properly, the ball knuckles...

How's that? Or, maybe it's because Tiger wills it that way.

I was thinking more along the lines of I just bought defective balls but what you said definitely sounds cooler.

Srixon advertises the "X" as the higher spinning ball off the driver. So you are only confirming what is by design.

I've never seen the commercials for the Z star, haha.
Thanks for clearing that up. I was kinda worried I bought defective balls.

Man, I'm sorry to see you guys close this up.

I thought it had the makings of a pretty good "Who's On First" routine and was wanting to follow the thread for some fun....:clapping:
I think I'm confused by your post.
I wasn't trying to brag or anything. I really thought I bought defective balls. I did it the last time I bought Pro v1s. A top flite xl3000 or whatever they were would spin more than those pro v1s.

But I'm all good now that I see my results are normal.

Just curious if you noticed that lots of your posts are very arrogant and just seem to be posted simply to try and impress? Somebody answers the question you asked and you pick a fight with them because they did not take into consideration what a beast you are and how you compress the living hell out of the ball? Its old already man.

That's not my intention and I'm very sorry if I come across that way. I really don't mean to. I was just stating why what he thought was incorrect. I didn't mean to pick a fight.
Sorry guys :(
I'll try and fix that.

Why would you ask a question, and then somebody that answers tell them that they are wrong?
So he could help me come up with another reason.
His reason was that I might not be compressing the ball. Well, I am.
So that can't be the reason. I stated he was wrong so that maybe he could help me come up with another reason that could be right. I said it the wrong way though.

For me and the people in my area, the Z Starspins less off of the driver and irons than the Z Star X
My question is: How do you know each balls spin rate ? How can you possibly tell which ball is supposedly spinning more from a Driver?

Trackman... Launch Monitors.
And when one ball hits the ground and spins backwards with the driver and one rolls forward on equally struck shots, it's obvious one is spinning more than the other. Everyone I've met in my area has given similar stories
