LOVE my D3 9.5* with RIP 60. i play it in D2 setting and i no longer fear the high, baloonish fade/slice i always fight with my 905r. Best Driver i have ever hit.
Midnightexpress, I haven't had a chance to hit mine or play with the settings yet. What did moving to the D2 setting do for you? Do you feel that is the reason you have gotten rid of the high right miss, or is it just a better club for you?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin. its a bit of both really.. perhaps the shaft helps a lot too. the only other driver i really held onto for a long time was the 905r. it had a 65G Aldila NV Stiff in it and the ball flight was always balooning, fading hard or even slice. this new 910 D3 in the D2 setting has changed the ball flight so much ill never look back. i had it out today again infact and i am blown away by the ball flight. its almost a little half cork screw of a ball flight.. kinda takes off from the tee just right of the target, draws over to the left of the intial target line at its peak hight which isnt all that high, and then it kinda turns over ever so slightly towards the right about on center line as it lands and runs out. and its VERY consistant. The driver has always been the worst club in my bag but no longer. i hit this thing on target with a full 100% swing 80% of the time.. and misses arent all that bad. i did try setting the club in D3 wich is still at its most left bias with a loft of 10.25* just for fun and it did exactly what it was designed to do. a higher launch, less roll, but still hung on the left side of the target line. So this is great because i can launch it hight and not worry about the dreaded slice anymore. in other driver i always had to tee it lower, close the face a little and TRY to keep it low so i wouldnt slice or over fade it.

I am really hoping to put one of these in the bag this year. I am waiting for more people to get them...decide they can't hit em...and then unload them on ebay. I grab one and hit it every time I am in the golf store. Thanks for all the reviews you all are posting, it is definitely making it more difficult for me to say I don't NEED one.

 • 2 weeks later...

Went on the monitor today and test drove the D3 with the 'made for' Project X shaft. Thought the 73g on this shaft would really slow my ss down and to my suprise it wasn't significant and I was really hitting this driver well and loved the feel. My current driver (stock shaft at 60g) was becoming a little sloppy, but this new Titleist driver with the more stable Project X shaft is perfect for me. I realize it's not the 'real deal' Project X shaft, but it's a major step up for me. Spin decreased significantly for me and that is ultimately what I was after...This driver will be in the bag in a few days and the 3 wood and hybrid will follow shortly afterwards...

Thats what I thought going in but the guy I talked to said only the RIP for the D3/D2 was the real deal. I guess that explains why I liked the shaft so much :cheesy: .... thanks for the 'heads up'.

I was fitted by a titleist rep who told me the project X is the real deal. I love my D3 with the A1 setting.

+1 - I was fitted for the D3 with the Project X and was told it is the real deal too. I absolutely love the D3 with the ProjectX. I am bombing it and very accurate.

Easily the best feeling driver I have ever hit. I have hit all the new driver offerings on a launch monitor, to be honest the 910 is no longer or shorter than anything else out there for me, where it does shine is amazing feel and the best accuracy I have ever seen with a big stick. I would be happy with the grouping I get with this from a wedge!.

Driver = Ping 430 LST

Hybrid = Cobra LTDX
Irons = 4 iron Callaway TCB

             5-PW Callaway Apex MB
Wedges = Miura HB 50*

                  Taylormade MG3 TW 56*

                  Nike SV Tour 60*

Putter = LAB Mezz Max broomstick

Ball = TP5x v’s Chrome Tour

Been agonizing over whether I should get the 910d2 with the RIP 70x or the PX. Launch monitor was broken and I thought both felt great, but have been going back and forth for a few days. Thoughts from people who've hit both? I also have the 910f with the kai'li, so should I just stick with that shaft in the 910d even though I havent tried it in that club?

Whats the difference between D3 and D2>>>
Per the titleist website
What are the performance differences between the D2 and D3 driver models? What kind of player will be best-suited to which club?
The base performance differences of the 910D2 and 910D3 are similar to prior models. The 910D2 is larger at 460cc and offers more forgiveness. The 910D3 is smaller with a deep face at 445c and offers additional shot and trajectory control. With the powerful adjustability offered by SureFit Tour we don't really characterize one club as being better suited for a certain player type. The best way to find the best one for you is to be custom fit.
